Music:I really like the atmospheric pieces of music, and there are a few.Calm before the storm i think its called, the calm lands theme, macalania's frozen lake, and even the spanish guitar version of to zanarkand.I kinda like most of the music actually.

Gameplay:It suffers terribly in some areas, and thrives in others.Less content than FFXII, but way more content than FFXIII.FFX thrives on sidequests. There are z bunch of arena monsters to kill to test your skills, but during most of the game, its only slightly better than FFXIII.At least you have stores, but other than that, its way more linear than previous titles. There is also no flying over the area and landing, instead we pick a place and land at the start of the level.During most of the game, you will just be progressing the plot, and movin from ones place to another, then you kill yunalesca, and finally get to fly the airship.I think it does this to fit the cutscenes mostly, like FFXIII.

FFX has a lot of side content, but some of it sucks. My least favourite, is the chocobo racing mini game, and dodging 200 bolts of lightning. The racing game is ridiculously hard, because the game cheats by making the npc faster than you, and the birds thrown at you appear out of nowhere. On top of that, they are homing pidgeons. It makes no sense, and its complete bullshit. The lightning dodging mini game is just boring and tedious. Its actually really easy.
The other stuff depends on how prepared you are.Do you really expect to beat dark aeons with 5000 or less hp, and no celestial weapons? Maybe if you do odin's i hit kill attack, but good luck trying to kill them without fully upgraded sphere, and no celestial weapons, and no yojimbo.

Characters:I don't relate that much to tidus. In some areas i do, but others i don't.I can understand the feeling of being alone in a foreign country and feeling exposed, or feeling out of place. What i can't relate to, is having your culture completely destroyed,

Imagine if your culture completely destroyed, and learned about it.That i cannot really relate to, because nothing like that has ever happened to me.

I can understand and relate to the others just fine.

The main story has anti establishment overtones, and anti stereotypes.I think it works in the games favor,

Overall:Maybe there is a chance of replaying it.

Holy shit this game is long 200+ hours, and not finished. So much grinding needed too.You may not like the grinding parts, especially farming spheres to get stats to 255.Got 255 strength on yuna and kimahri.I will do the rest when i got all lower stats replaced with +4. Hp comes last.

I just beat FFX.The ending was kinda silly.I won't spoil it, but i thought it ridiculous.I also am confused:Is yu yevon a god? or summoners spirit? I guess i couldn't expect anything else for the ending.

Great review! Do you think this game is worth getting as the Remastered X/X-2 set for PS3? I've just finished some other JRPGs like FFXIII and Ni no Kuni, and I thought I might try some more. (Apologies if this has been asked and answered elsewhere!)

For gameplay :HMM maybe renting but not buying.I think it really doesn't have much replay value as a whole.AS for the remake:If you like the original FFX; get the remake, if not:Just skip it.

I personally think ff4 remake is more merited, as is chrono trigger remake.I actually liked the remakes of both of those games.I'm still playing ff4 ds remake and its a good game.

There is nothing more to say about FFX.

The problem i have with modern turn based jrpgs, is that in the 90's they were still innovating them in the early 90's.Super mario rpg, chrono trigger ff4 ff6 ff5 ff tactics.
FF9 had some interesting ideas but its mostly the same as the old games without changing much.I personally feel that strategy rpgs are better in terms of how turn base combat is used.In ff tactics, the turn base combat adds so much depth because it can be overpowered, or it can be your death. In the newer ff games, it seems like i'm pressing x to win.
