I can't open these, it says unknown file format or damaged?

Same thing is happening for me. I'm using WinRar. I'll try using a dedicated 7z program and see if that undamages it.

Man this game is too awesome!

It is kinda infuriating at times and you have to be on the ball but, yeah, after finally figuring out how it works I really came to enjoy it. One trophy left to get for me as well!

the tracks are listed as stage 1, 2, 3, 6 for me, are there missing ones inbetween or was that all that's on the disc?

I noticed one of the songs not in the rip. It's a variation on a_2.mp3 with more intensity and frantic drums. It usually plays this music when starting out with an herbivore and you're being chased by predators. It's pretty cool and is a nice contrast to the soothing epicness of a_1.mp3 and a_2.mp3. So, not sure yet where to post this properly but I figured I'd drop it as a 'thanks again' reply in the few places I've grabbed music so far. Here's a link (http://goo.gl/BmwBx) to a Google Doc of all the music I've got. Some of it is very old, some are game rips, some are questionable CD rips, and some are even more questionable line-out recordings. Just ask for details because a lot of them are in various states of completeness.

If you're having problems downloading the files, try using another web browser. I just tested both links and they seem to work for me. Maybe try Firefox or Google Chrome. Sometimes I've had download sites like Mediafire or Rapidshare glitch out on one browser but work just fine on another.

Pass on my thanks to your housemate please, I've not played this game but I heard a few tracks on youtube and the OST sounded rather nice.

Also, without meaning to sidetrack the thread, if your housemate has any of the Boku no Natsuyasumi soundtracks, that'd be awesome, nobody on ffshrine has them.
