I just had the time to hear it today.
I must say this score is excelent.
Indeed, as phideas pointed out before, this is how
the music of gladiartor should be.
Excelent score with orchestra and choir on disc 1.
The disc 2 is indeed a rarity but worth listening.
It should be named how to destroy the music of an excelent composer
and make it easy listening.

I ask a friend saxophone player whose nic name is the polish to translate
the track names, but it turned out that he didnt speack or read polish.
His Grandfather was from Poland.

Hi, Phideas1, I haven't downloaded it yet.

Kobalski, translating through Google is easy. Also, I have Polish colleague and I could ask for help.

Thanks to Phideas1! This is some good music to listen to. The strings parts were very charming, the female chorus as well. If the strings were fuller, more brass added, it would become much better.

I believe he scored this to fit the period, hence the lack of brass but the use of unusual instrumentation, mixed choir & boys choir.

In many of the scores of Kaczmarek are choirs.
It seems that he like the sound of it.
And were greatful of course...

Some sections of this score sounds like Carmina Burana.

ANYTHING with pulsating choir and percussion seems to remind of Carmina Burana. But from what I read, it was not a source of inspiration for Kaczmarek. You will hear music in this piece that echoes LOST SOULS.... the orchestration familiar. But this composer is solid with piano, strings, and voice.... Quo Vadis is something of a stretch... but not by far.

Someone told me long ago John Barry was instructed to create the score for LION IN WINTER to emulate Carmina Burana... but I don't hear it.

When you snooze, you looze.

And Kaczmarek DOES 'write' fantastic scores STILL.

His beautiful, charming, and melancholy score for HACHI, A DOG'S TALE proves this; which uses piano to emulate Hachi's joyous trotting along and the cello to evoke the deep emotional bond mankind has with such companions.

A beautiful film.

I'm downloading a torrent version now.
If it finishes and I can find out how to change the 1 .CUE File into 18 mp3 files then I will for sure reupload it here for all fellow seekers!

k I split the .cue file and it became 18 WV files. Now I made them into mp3 files but that made it from 320kbps to 128kbps.
So I'm going to post links here for the WV files AND the MP3 files. Take whichever one! :D
