Yes if there is enough interest apparently, I wonder how large a set they are planning on doing, a large expensive set might not be greeted too warmly amongst casual collectors and even some avid Star Trek collectors.

Oh, Christ... did they not learn anything from Kendall's disastrous Ron Jones box?

Don't get me wrong, there's going to be some GREAT stuff there... I just don't see this as a good idea from a business perspective. I'd be overjoyed to be proven wrong.

Sorry I can't get into SW, the music is too much repetition...Hope, Empire and Return are very good, the others not so much.

I am not a big fan of ST so could you tell me what happened with the Kendrall Jones' box? Why was it a "disaster"?

Kendall reported that sales were not astronomical and tried to blame piracy for the lack of success.

This followed his earlier admission that the project was driven largely by his own desire to release the scores and that he worried about the project from a business perspective. In the end, folk just didn't come out in droves to buy sixteen hours of music - over half of which is arguably throwaway filler - spread across fourteen CDs for $150.

I would imagine TOS will fare a little better - mainly because the music is better - but I still worry that this thing won't sell. Intrada were also disappointed by poor sales of the two disc TNG set, if memory serves.

The fact that they're "scoping interest" before settling on a a number suggests they're being canny.

Hope it works out for them... but I fear this may be another labour of love that doesn't translate into sales.

[Edit: I'm not quite sure why people are worried that it won't be released. Of course it will be released. They've spent God-knows how long finding the master tapes and transferring them and remastering them and all the rest of it. All that will have cost a stupid amount of money which they wouldn't have just randomly decided to spend just to can the release months later. The only question now is how many copies will they press.]

It was a huge underachiever ultimately to put it mildly and then Lukas Kendall began finger pointing directly at a certain forum which had shared a Lossless copy of the set.

As I recall my grandfather told me that he had a large personal investment in this release so I can see that's the biggest reason for his displeasure.

My guess is in the 1,000-1,500 range.

Ron Jones is alright (a little repetitive) but, he doesn't come close the great composers on Star Trek: The Original Series. Also, they are requesting that people vote their interest in the set to get a count.

Boy I was sure wrong they pressed 6,000 Copies but at $224.00 bucks it might take awhile to sell out.
