SALT was one of the best soundtracks that James have composed (Thank goodness I've gotten that)! As much as I truly missed John Powell's work in the Bourne trilogy, Jim have truly made an explosion on this soundtrack.

I agree mate, also the Salt score was highly underrated and i dont know why. it was perfect!

Love how JNH was able to brought back the bassoon theme from the trilogy.

The score to me is nothing special as expected sadly, but then i'm not a huge fan of the Powell scores either (altho I have to admit there are some cues that I really enjoy).

Overall a it's decent effort, no more no less imo. Nothing here really stood out for me sadly. Salt is better than this score.

You have to be deaf to mistake JNH with Zimmer. Even when he's using electronics, JNH's sound is always organic and orchestral.

Powell did an incredible job for the Bourne trilogy and I for one will miss him greatly if he doesn't return to the franchise, even as a fan of JNH I might be. Powell really nailed the perfect music for Bourne, I don't know why they didn't keep him since the movie is not intended to be a reboot (like Spider-Man) but a continuation of the story...

Yeah but sometimes you can forget faithfulness in movie business, for the sake of continuity and efficiency. Look at Christopher Nolan with David Julyan.

i was a bit worried learning that the original composer for the trilogy wasn't returning and was unhappy with the recent works of JNH. but i was glad this had a different story to tell. i love Newton Howard's work here and that tiny bits of reference from the trademark bourne cues added a bit of nostalgia for me connecting the past to the current.
