"Aurora" is dedicated to those who lost their lives and were affected by the tragedy in Aurora, Colorado. I recorded this song in London in the days following the tragedy as a heartfelt tribute to the victims and their families. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to Aurora Victim Relief organization. The track is available on iTunes shortly and here: http://bitly.com/QmUiWM" - Hans Zimmer

"Aurora" runs 8:36 and appears to only be availible as a 160kbps mp3 (although I didn't check iTunes), but the sound is quality and the music is absolutely moving.

You may download the track for a minimum $0.10 donation, which I think we can all agree is for a most worthy cause.

Warner Bros have realized that they have blood on their hands. Now they try to clean them. Everybody who believes the money is for a good purpose - and anything else but ticket sales - is wrong.

It was Christopher Nolan who inspired poor madman Holmes by creating the Joker that Holmes imitated. Don't you get it? This has become a political problem.

What I get is that you skipped your meds for the past year.

I see a lock in the future of this thread, possible member banning and warnings across the board. It's a real shame too. In this case I'd happily have bought the track had I been in the US. I hope that they stretch it out to Amazon MP3 at some point too.

Only thing was the guy had ORANGE hair, so he can call himself joker all he wants, but the jokes on him. Joker had green hair.

And never the less, think what you will, but coming out like this will simply get others angry and hate on you, don't waste your effort here.

Now if you excuse me, I'm leaving this thread until things are... finished.

I know we all agree to ignore our now rightfully banned comrad, but just to speak to that type of appalling sentiment...

The Batman stories are a form of modern mythology and morality plays. Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight films delineate a very responsible message of moral obligation and compassion for the defenseless. Their morality is not hidden within some intellectual satire, but rather worn directly on the sleeve. The fact that villainy is depicted in a relatable and seductive way is not to condone it, but to hold a mirror up to society and confront the darkness we all share while making a point about how heinous we are all capable of becoming without a strong conviction toward righteousness and the choice of civility. That's why Nolan's vision, in particular, is considered to be Art - because it looks deeper into the human condition than just some frivolous action exploit. Those films are not reckless with their ideals nor with their compartmentalization of evil, but the coward at the center of the Aurora shooting is.

In the same respect that someone should have been sensitive to the disturbing signs shown by that coward in Aurora, I hope a most watchful eye is honed in on anyone who would ridicule the innocent victims and families of a tragedy, disparage a charity designed to help alieviate their sudden finacial burden, or pathetically try to justify their sadistic attitudes by pointing at any work of art - because an indiviual of this sort clearly fails the empathy test!

WHY are any of you letting the trolls get attention? It's the internet. There are always some people who wanna just get their attention by saying or doing the meanest thing possible. Everyone here knows that, and knows to ignore them. Just...ignore them.

I imagine all proceeds on any sight that legitimately sells this track goes to the cause.
iTunes, official site. the blog.

Although, I wouldn't trust a blog.

I can post a paypal account donation applet and mimic the Aurora donations.
I would stick with the regulated outlets: iTunes and the official site.

I have to wait 24 hours before my credit card is activated before I can donate.

I think I can debunk this; gave $5, got a 160kbps file.

Doesn't really matter to me, though. The music is secondary, a trifle to motivate a donation to a good cause. It's a nice gesture. (Though your idea would have been a cool idea to encourage higher donations.)

I keep getting messages asking if I think the free links should be deleted.

I am not a mod, and cannot edit posts, so I don't really think it matters what I think. I would guess that technically, the links are allowed. Personally, I think the worst thing to do is to be divisive about this on the forum. If you disagree or agree with the free links, say nothing either way. The best repect I can offer is to not be fighting over petty shit right now.

OR (all due love sparks), just grit your teeth and keep it to yourself. Really, the more we fight over these really petty things, the less we lose sight of the bigger tragedy. Just for even one night, can't we just get along and NOT stir up shit for the sake of doing so?
