Welcome to The Dark Knight Trilogy Resources thread! I can hear the groans already, another Batman music thread. I've created this thread so that, hopefully, there can be a few less of those groans.

Here is where I will round up and compile all links for anything Batman music related. A daunting task, yes, but hopefully with help from you all, it will flourish and be a benefit for the Shrine community.

I'll periodically update this thread to allow it to grow at a deliberate pace. With the initial posting, I'm only including links to unedited and relatively untouched versions of the widely-known editions (soundtracks, complete leaks, bonus tracks, etc.) With future updates, I'll be adding fan edits and other community contributions, if available. So, if you would like your edition to be included in this thread, please PM me with a link and info, or a link to an existing thread. You can comment on this thread, too, but response may not be as quick.

The links are mine unless otherwise specified. Some are missing at the moment, and unless anyone is willing to contribute a greyed-out link or two, I can get to uploading those tomorrow when I have access to the original files.

So, here we go! Here's to hoping that this thread flourishes with your help and puts an end to some of the repetitive groans.

Nice! Now it will be awesome when the TDKR complete scores gets leaked and complete the trilogy.

After watching TDKR , I have to say that some cues in the movie worth a complete score. Some of howard previous cues are more used in the movie than in the original score.

Wouldn't mind if the uploads were on another host than RapidShare. If you're not willing to pay quite a lot, it plain sucks. Download speed is a joke, IF you get the files at all. But don't get me wrong, i DO appreciate the uploads, it's the service of the upload that's bad.

i would be most grateful. thats one of my pet peeves with bonus tracks - they are usually digital-only, or only in an app, and impossible to find in lossless :(

Huh. No, I'm getting that too. It's weird, because I tested CD1 right after I posted and it worked fine and downloaded all the way through.

HZ already released "Aurora" with 100% of the proceeds going to those people. WaterTower is the record label. Warner is not gonna lose any more money than they have to. Come on, it's a greedy record company

File naming is just one technique.
File size is another.

One of the newest technologies that web hosting/file sharing are starting to implement is a new scanning process where the algorithms scan for the CRC checksums and run them against a database of known copyrighting-infringement material. If there's a match, the files are flagged and taken down. If there's too many files, the account gets locked until the owner of the account convinces the website that the material is legal and not within copyright infringing. :laugh: Good luck :p

It's like how anti-virus programs work. Flagged files are indexed for all future uses to prevent any further... "contamination", shall we say?

Also, I suspect, if any one account or any one file consumes too much bandwidth.
Whether it's a free account or a paid premium account.

We could probably have to wait for sessions for 3 years like TDK. The future is unknown for file-sharing sites and the FFShrine itself.

As a side note, I've noticed that the Batman Begins FLAC has slightly different tracks per disc than the mp3 version, but all of the non-alt tracks are there nonetheless. I'm guessing the TDK album has a similar quirk.

Looking forward to your TDK Trilogy Suite! I was thinking about doing one myself, but it will take too long to go through all the cues! :)

Yeah, they are slightly different. I've found that the MP3 versions move the alternate version cues to a separate disc and has some additional tracks (TDK has some fan edit suites.)

Sounds like fan-made stuff. The chords kinda go off pitch at some places, at least I think so. Also maybe it's just me, but I can hear the basic melody of "Mind Heist" throughout most of the track.

I've got an idea. People, if the actual sessions leak out, please DO NOT UPLOAD previous editions, like in the case of Batman Begins.
We've got KaFaraqGatri/konio's sessions, which is the real deal. It's a lot easier if people know what they're downloading.

And since this is a resources thread, I'd recommend the idea of uploading all the trailer music from TV Spots, Theatrical Trailers, etc.
Someone of the trailer cues are really good, especially in the case of TDKR.

WTF? Where did a FLAC version come from? The sound effects in the app ARE full .wav files, but all of the actual music tracks are 98kbps aac. Please tell me this isn't a bizarre case of upconverting.

I always thought you can convert from one lossless format into any other lossless format without lowering the quality....I have to convert from Flac to Alac (Apple Lossless Audio Codec) cause I use an iPod....surely I�m not the only one, can anyone solve that?

But in this case, the source files that these flac files were made from were originally 98kbps aac. Unless I missed something, and someone somehow was able to obtain genuine lossless versions of the music from an iOS app, converting to flac is at the very least a colossal waste of space.

You have a point about lossless to lossless, but I was referring to someone converting these flac files to mp3, which would still be an aac-to-mp3 transcode with an extra step needlessly thrown in. To be fair, the sound effects for The Bat are originally in wav format, but the music is not.

Definitely agree with this. Should've just posted the original M4A files instead of converting to FLAC.

There's absolutely no point in doing this unless you can't play M4A, but if you can play FLAC, then chances are you know how to play M4As! :)

Yes, how odd, isn't it? It would seem that if a blog would get shut down, all of its data would become inaccessible to the public. The only ways someone would have access to a blog to "restart it" would be if the original creator of the blog handed over his username and password to a guy he was apparently "a dick to in college" or if said creator and new creator were the same person. I would think that if you "restarted" a blog, it wouldn't still have posts in it from, what, a year ago?

That is irrelevant; simply a red herring. It doesn't matter what you used. Hell, people don't even used PhotoShop on images, they use PhotoShop to create images. If your covers are distorted, that can only be attributed to operator error, whether you screwed up while you were "using PhotoShop on them" or you didn't know how to upload them.

Going back on-topic: I have not taken the time to read through all five pages of this thread, so I don't know if this has already been said, but I've got a couple corrections I'd like to make. Perhaps the OP is currently busy at this time and therefore is not here to fix these things, but I'll point them out anyway. The listing for TDKR OST labels it as 320kbps but it is actually only 256kbps. Secondly, the listing for the Z+ App tracks label them as being MP3 when they are actually the same as bi0hazard's original upload: original app audio cut up into tracks, and suspended in FLAC to preserve quality.

Other than those two things, this is a stellar collection of music! It's great to have everything all in one location. If the OP wanted, you can link to my TDKR Mega-thread here.

I was actually going to upload the BB sessions in FLAC for the crowd who missed it, but upon finding this out, I'm gonna pass. The crackdown on all the good music is getting a little bit too much.

Okay watching Batman Begins for the first time in years and after comparing the music from the recording sessions to the film, I can safely say that the recording sessions are not complete or may I'm just confused. The first real instance I noticed music missing was almost directly after Scarecrow shoots Rachel in the face with his fear gas in the elevator when she's trying to escape from his lab (Track 2-05 Making Medicine). The music featured directly after that sequence on the recording sessions is replaced with a much quieter cue but in the film there are clearly a much more intense piece featuring a few instances of the Batman wing flap sound effect that is missing from the cue. There are maybe 2 tracks missing after this before the next track Backup starts (which I didn't even hear in the film) followed by Batmobile Chase. The missing tracks include the plucking strings sound featured most memorably in the first track of The Dark Knight recording sessions track, Logos and the Batman theme usually played at the very beginning of the end credits. Are those missing tracks available somewhere or are they repeats of other cues on the score? Thanks in advance.

^cody, there's another piece of music we're missing... it's the alternate to the Dockyard Ambush Pt. 2 (it was used in the movie, but we got the rejected version in the sessions).

About the pluckered strings, AFAIK, they're only used in the logo sequences... particularly TDK because of Joker's theme.
And that effect was created by using razor blades on cellos.

Well, remember, complete recording sessions still don't always contain film versions. Directors will change the order of scenes, add/delete scenes. So, often music is cut and re-edited, looped etc. The sessions are the music as written and recorded by the composer, and usually do not represent film versions. This is especially true with, say Aliens. The Deluxe release by Varese is complete, but as written by Horner. It in very few ways represents what actually gets heardin the film....

The name of the music heard in the 3rd trailer of The Dark Knight Rises is Legendary. Not sure if it's composed by Zimmer or not because if it was, I don't know why it was left off the score since the score was composed by him too so he should known everything he's created, right? According to Google though, Legendary IS composed by HZ. In any case, if anyone gets a hold of the song, please post it here or somewhere in the Film Music Download section of this site.

There is at least, some hope that someone out there (apart from the composers and WB) has the complete score but is afraid to leak it out.
It would be a great Christmas present if the complete score gets uploaded on here just after the Blu-Ray and DVD release.

Something I've noticed. The score sheets are tagged with the name of Magnus Rex. Someone who has a book about Nolan's trilogy which includes the scripts of the three movies shared the TDKR script which it was named like that.

Yes. "Magnus Rex" was the film's production title. Much like MOS's production title is "Autumn Frost"

I can only speak for myself on the Batman Begins/Dark Knight. I do not keep any flac on my pc. I have no backup, so have limited space. I kept flac copies of the scores on MegaUpload to share, and also on MultiUpload. Mega was taken down, so those files were lost. Multi was also taken around the same time, so those files were also lost. I CANNOT replace them atm, so I cannot repost them either openly or via PM.

Glencf, You need more than 5 seperate posts for your pm system to activate. After you hit 5, and there is a small waiting period while the system resets, you can begin pm'ing members. On that topic, please note my pm system is locked down for now, and only friends can pm me. (And i am not accepting requests for now). The 3cd set for Batman Begins is the recording sessions. No sfx whatsoever. It shouldn't be on wikipedia because these are bootlegged. Not official release. These alleged expanded scores are merely sfx riddled or rearranged tracks from the ost with the end credits latched on. The real expanded score is the 3cd set.

Welcome to The Dark Knight Trilogy Resources thread! I can hear the groans already, another Batman music thread. I've created this thread so that, hopefully, there can be a few less of those groans.

Here is where I will round up and compile all links for anything Batman music related. A daunting task, yes, but hopefully with help from you all, it will flourish and be a benefit for the Shrine community.

I'll periodically update this thread to allow it to grow at a deliberate pace. Actual MOVIE VERSION of "Fernet Branca" (0:28) leading into the full "End Credits" (7:42). The tracks are best suited for gapless playback (the gap between them is the same as in the film)

Does anyone know if there is a complete score out there to "The Dark Knight" that has cue slate numbers included in the song titles? I know there is a complete release of the Dark Knight score, I'm just wondering if there is recording sessions available as well.

You could rename the 2nd last cue to "A Watchful Guardian" if you need to; it was like that on the official deluxe release. :D

By the way, there's a particular cue "A Hero Without A Face" that I'm most curious to listen to... Is there any more info on JNH's work in The Dark Knight?

2.) It's nowhere NEAR the same track. That track is a mix of several different cues. Mine is almost identical to what's heard in the film, and I wanted to give it my own name. I prefer "Set the Dogs on Me"

At some point someone put together a 2 disc version of TDKR that included "Dehshay Bahsahrah" (or however you spell it) at 40 seconds long on the second disc with the extended suites. All I'm looking for is that 40 second track. Can anyone help?

My version of Batman Chased, mixed with all the different components like it was in the movie... it's 99.9% accurate... except for a small portion which I can only do if someone extracts the audio from the Blu-Ray and sends to me...

For Dark Knight Rises, the music that played when Batman was surrounded by cops and a helicopter was above him and he made a ramp for himself to evade them. Is that on any of the soundtracks posted above?

I guess we can rename them if we wanted to however we want. I haven't downloaded any of this as links seem to die whenever I try to download. However, with being busy and my PC full, guess that's why I'm not here as often and maybe that's why I can't download anything. Anyway, other good track names for the "Set The Dogs On Me" track you and Firebolt discussed (I'd imagine that this track covers the entire sequence of Batman talking to Jim to the very last shot of Batman riding away on the highway on his Batpod):

1. Die A Hero Or Live To See Yourself As A Villain - I know it's long. But it fits well. To shorten it a bit, you could just say "Die A Hero Or See Yourself As A Villain"
2. A Silent Protector - The favorite of mine of the 3 as it's a great fit and short.
3. The Hero Gotham Needs - A good name. But not as good at my number 2 pick.

The names you already have are great, But those 3 names for the Set The Dogs On Me track are just my opinion though.

Funny how the track names and most, if not all of the track names of TDK OST are comprised of quotes/dialogue taken from the movie itself. Also, I think that in the first, middle or last 6 tracks from Begins, the first letter of each of those 6 tracks spell the word, B A T M A N

I'm sure you did some great work here. But all I'm really looking for (but free of SFX/dialogue) is the movie version of the scene I described in the post above. The scene is from the Rises film.
