Robert, thank you for this album. You mentioned the other one by Lee Holdridge. I never heard the complete score as the intrada disc is sold out. I only heard the suite Gerhardt and LSO recorded, from which it seems Holdridge's theme is not as memorable as Roseman's.

Actually it's a mono recording so, rather than a RCA Living Stereo recording I think it's closer to a High Fidelity one, considering how great it sounds ! Thanks for your appreciation.

Thanks to Robert for this treasure. I knew the much truncated version by Holdridge, but this one surpasses it by far!

Lee Holdridges' score for the 1981 mini-series is somewhat less impressive with it's lush romanticism but still pleasant in it's own way and quite different from the Leonard Rosenman dissonant, ground-breaking score for the 1955 film.
