I've done all of this, they extract to WAV files which I can't do anything with. I need help with figuring out how to get the WAV files playing, or at least convertable.
Let me know how to extract the files from the PAC files. I'll see what I can do and keep you updated. (thumbs up)
UPDATE: I already tried several tools, but somehow these PAC files contain a different header from the other PAC files, for example, the ones used by BlazBlue.
Can't seem to find the right way to rip these PACs....
UPDATE 2: Ok, so I just found out that the PAC files are encrypted by the Xbox 360 SDK, and to decrypt them, you need xbdecompress.exe. This tool is copyrighted, and can't be shared around here, so... For those, needing this, you need to find this setup:
XDKSetupXenon21076.11.exe
For now, this is the latest SDK around.
Use the EXE from that SDK to decrypt the PAC files.
I'll post more info later...
FINAL UPDATE: OK, process completed. =)
Here's the how to:
1. Decode the PAC files with xbdecompress.exe
2. You'll get the PAC file decrypted.
3. Open that PAC file with Hipster.
4. Extract the contents of the PAC with Hipster.
5. You'll get at least 1 XWB file. You might get more files.
6. Grab the XWB file(s) and use unxwb.exe
7. unxwb will give you a WAV file. This WAV file is actually a XMA file.
8. Now, use xma2encode to decode the XMA/WAV file to a readable WAV PCM file.
9. Done. =) You can now listen the WAV file in any player!
Hope this helps everyone out there. =D
I took the liberty of uploading a RAR with all the tools you need, plus a PAC file for testing purposes. ;)
This PAC file is a BGM from the game: Persona 4 Arena.
