Hey everyone!

OK, first of all, i promise you this will be the last time i will bother you with "TDKR" music, but i wanted to make one additional track (before the release of the film)
for you film music lovers & Batman fans.

This, here, is my own vision of how i see the ending, which is more of an homage to Hans Zimmer & James Newton Howard for their work on Nolan's Batman.

No big percussions this time, this one is more the intimate & uplifting one...

I really hope that you will appreciate this, if not everything, i would hope there is a little something for each one of you here & there within these 10 minutes...

I also added a little musical bonus at the end of the track!

Thanks for listening guys!

I've got to admit Alex, when I first heard "Gotham's Reckoning" on the official OST, I couldn't help but prefer your original "The Fire Rises - Prologue". Sure the OST has more of a raw, grimy sound to it with much deeper synth-bass (which will probably suit the film perfectly), but in your version it actually sounds like an orchestra playing. Maybe this is what's lacking in TDKR given James Newton Howards absence.

Will listen to this later, I've no doubt it's gonna be great. All I can say is, if you're doing this just as a hobby then you really need to quit your current job and put in an application to RCP.

I listened to it , I can't say i like everything but I like the atmosphere you put in it. I realize now that TDKR misses a lot of soft piano cues that could have been great to emphazise the emotional aspect that seems to be one of the major ingredient of the movie.

I say this from the depth of my heart and as a life long Hans Zimmer fan....your 4 cues, my friend, have more emotional momentum than the entire Dark Knight Rises score!!!
Very very well done!!!

Hi everyone! I thought it would be cool to share in this thread my fan-made unnoficial score for The Dark Knight Rises :)
Influenced by Batman movie's music, from Zimmer and Howard, to Shirley Walker, to Danny Elfman.

I hope you enjoy it, feedback about this would be nice :)

Why would you stop doing these? They're simply awesome (I'm listening to this right now and I like what I hear, so far), and you've done an amazing job with all the pieces you've shared here with us.

I have to agree with what I've seen other people say - quit your job and put in an application at RCP. Or you should at least get into composing films (if your not already).

Thanks for all your hard work and for sharing these, everybody appreciates it.

i've put this cue now at the end of the score and heard to the score with the epilogue over and over, and guess what? i can enjoy the score much more now with having the epilogue. it shows me that there is missing a lot of emotional and sad cues, which should be a huge part of batman.
those action cues aren't bad from zimmer, but they're just too many at once in that score without having the opposite with some sad and emotional cues.

in begins we had those 50/50 scenario, with so many beautiful cues from james and lovely action cues from hans.
in tdkr it's just a 98/2 scenario with 98% action cues.

i've heard in a review for the movie, that it has also some emotional cues especially in the first 30 minutes of the movie, so i hope we'll get one day the recordings and can enjoy the score more with them.

and seriously i don't hope that you'll stop with doing more cues alex, it's so good that i really enjoy hearing at it and it gives the overall score from zimmer a much better note only due to your cue. so please don't stop with doing your magic :)

Thanks DaKoftheOTA for that kind of honesty!

This is why i chose FFShrine and your community first to post my work!

I felt every single one of your words, and i'll tell you exactly why!

The course of this year & 1/2 has been a total "earth-shattering" experience for my own life...

I just reached 22 years old, no single musical-academic training, can't really read scores (yet), horrible piano skills...

Reason to that?

For more than 15 years I basically didn't have the slightest clue as to what the hell i could be doing on this earth.
I had many events, all those teen cliches issues that led me to believe to a certain point that I was a failure in just about everything i would undertake in any situation.

but...

there was one or two things i thought i really "knew" about myself, which was
1)"John Williams will always be with me when I'm heart-broken on anything"
2) An other more abstract general aspiration for that mountain of self-confidence i hoped i would one day reach as i become eventually a man...

-> It's basically that feeling when you see / remember sometimes a "crazy" extroverted, quite entertaining person you saw on the street or anywhere, but you know deep inside this is just called a free spirit, and you know you too have this inspiring craziness & honesty inside of you waiting to burst out and to be shown to the people around you...

I knew i was drawn towards that certain path of energy or spectacle, where you get to be the person who brings excitement to other people, (same analogy of the feeling you get when you make someone else laugh or when people want to share their hard work on forums and the excitement that is shared between the poster & the receiver)

but frustatingly at the time, i only knew the contours of that path but not exactly what was within it...

Then...

Only a year ago, when i first learned about sample libraries, i knew what the potential of it could be for me! That it would be a new language that i would be able to approach immediately and be able to communicate things with it...
Basically, my whole life now feels as if my early-life issues were a continuous vessel towards "John Williams & Hollywood Escapism",
all the way towards "passive listening" - to - "active listening" and then now here posting on this forum about film music recreations & compositions...

But you know,

I will give you a direct answer to your post regarding the future...

I believe now when looking back on everything i lived, i owe too much to myself and others to just do something other than this...
I now know exactly what excites me, what i love sweating on, and what i can do to hopefully make other people's lives a little happier, if it isn't already...

I have yet so many things i know i want and have to learn, i still have to understand more about my relationship
with the art & craft of music and
not just limit it to computer technology,
but this will be revealed to me in due course...

Now i really need to thank you all again, my friends because this kind of response i get could not be more the right time for me,
as i'm only in sort of the "kickstart phase" of my life...

I know this feels like one big cheesy romanticized tale, but i feel that's the most honest explanation i should owe you all so you can know me a little better, after all...

Thanks :)
Alex

I really would like to thank for sharing such a great work and secondly, I subscribed to your YT channel for keeping a contact... I'm a composer too, fan of Zimmer, of Jablonsky, of John Williams, of Ennio, of Bruno Coulais etc etc... And today a fan of yours! :D I'm from Greece 28 years old, and as you may know, things in Greece are goin' down, my dreams of composing are fading out but I'm trying hard to build my dream here in Greece. Anyway, I 'd really love to have a nice conversation about the libraries/VSTi's you use and all that stuff. It would be humbly appreciated to speak with such a talented young guy, like you are.

Nicely done. I am burning to 2 CDs the Dark Knight Rises soundtrack, and, along with the official bonus tracks (which exceed the length of a single CD), have added your Epilogue piece. It makes a nice part of the overall score presentation.
