I remember one time when I tried fighting him (actually all the times he was pretty easy), was it even possible for any of your characters to die? i mean i tried even killing my own off, but they would just be brought back with auto-life... but it seems that this constant effect only happens at the end after you beat Braska's Final Aeon... has anyone else noticed this?

Basically once you beat Braska's Final Aeon, the game is pretty much over (in terms of dying and stuff)

Petrify all of your characters. Game Over.

Hhhhmmmm...I wonder what would happen if you did lose against that pipsqueek? I mean, If you did petrify all your people, would the game just un-petrify them, or will they be switched out with three fresh members?

The game will never "auto-switch" anyone. According to what I have read, it's a Game Over. However, I can check if you really want me to.

Ashura

Nah. That's okay, I was just expressing my wonder. I mean, if you can't kill yourself by hits, and you do petrify yourself, it wouldn't be a surprise if the game did do an auto-switch.

Agent0042

Hmm. But then you could just petrify the characters it switched in, so it would be kinda pointless. Of course, the game could just cure the status ailment (Auto-Med, Ribbon), but I'm pretty sure that only Auto-Life is added in that battle.

Oh...Thanks.

I would laugh really hard if I saw anyone die from him...

In any event, why do you want to lose if you don't mind my asking?

Asyrian
02-05-2004, 02:32 AM
cuz i don't think it can be done

Agent0042

Yeah, just the whole "something new to try thing." And it can be done, as I stated, although you're really doing yourself in.

losing to Yu Yevon is that hard? personally i'm mollified that they didn't make him a person...he has a significant role..least he could do is step out from behind the curtain and flashy lights...

a first in FF history (as far as i kno) it's harder to lose to a boss than beat him. does the petrify thing work?

Agent0042

I don't know for sure. I'm pretty sure that it does, but my offer to check is still open if you want.

Consider it done. I'll edit this post with the results once I've done it.

Edit: Confirmed. Petrifying / shattering all three characters in the active battle is an instant Game Over. Nothing else special happens, just Game Over.

Thanks man...Though you didn't really have to do that...

Would using Dispel on ur characters gt rid of Auto-Life?

cz thn u cud jst hack the s*** out of urself n thn u dead.

Agent0042

Dispel doesn't work for "auto-statuses." Like if you equipped an armor with Auto-Haste and then went into the battle and tried casting Dispel on that character to get rid of the Haste status, it wouldn't work. It's permanent as long as the armor as equipped. And in this battle the Auto-Life is permanent, so Dispel is useless.

It is simple. Don't revive ancient threads and don't post just to say something that's supposed to sound "witty" but is actually pointless.

Well, some people think it's funny that you actually have to try to lose a final battle.

Although, right now I find your prelling funnier. :) dilibretly~

I oughtta try this in the HD Remaster :D

Of course you guys wouldn't know about that because you are frozen in 2004...whereas I am from the future and it is the year 2014. One day I will free you guys but until now..you will be stuck in your 2004 time bubble until I decide to free you.

There is a way to lose the battle, I remember answering a question on ffx trivia. I think you cast zombie on all your characters and cast reflect on yu yevon.. I'm gonna go search for it because now I'm curious.

The only way to lose is by petrifying all your characters. Moving on...
