Hey, Zac, I listened to the soundtrack and oh my GOD was it AWESOME!!!! I've always been a fan of Yasuharu Takanashi's music (even if he does reuse some tracks sometimes, but I've only seen that in the Pretty Cure movies' OSTs) and considering I've been religiously watching Smile since it started (haven't missed an episode yet), I was psyched for this soundtrack, and I officially love it.

By the way, could anyone give a possible release date for the vocal CD?

Do not get me wrong dude. Not intention to offend you, just giving ,my opinion.
If you really are THAT fan you would be able to admit that Takanashi is lacking a lot in inspiration in Precure.
My first precure thing I listen from him was Suite Precure and I found it very "Freshy" in ideas comming from him. Loved his idea of the female vocals. Unless you only like Takanashi just because of the heavy Guitar compositions, that is not being trully a fan of him.
Again, I do not want to offend you or make you angry. Just think about it. I will say this FOREVER:
Terra he (TOWARD THE TERRA) IS the BEST SOUNDTRACK OF YASUHARU TAKANASHI-
It is not that I do not like his guitar stuf. I really like it, but that is not the ALL of Takanashi you hear in a soundtrack.
Naoki Sato got tired of teh Precure Mechandise, maybe for the same reason I have been pointing, lack of inspiration.
Another point that I found stupid, is why the hell we have 3 soundtracks (2 tv osts plus the related movie) and we have a lot of same exact tracks repeated? They are not different versions nor nothing. To be honest , there are very little tracks I like in the last precure soundtracks.
And to be honest, and I AM A FAN of TAKANASHI longer then you for sure, since his music carreer in 1989, and precure soundtracks are not good at all.
SHIKI soundtrack was way, major, maybe one thousand better then precure music. It was again different, fresh, with a lot of great ideas and inspiring ones. Must say, it is one of his top soundtracks in my opinion.
I so want to hear a new soundtrack not related to precure, so I can take all proofs that he is not loosing inspiration.

I have not yet heard all thesoundtrack, but I was not that catch up with it. Everytime I hear a new soundtrack of Takanashi, I am days nonstop listening it. Precure I listen only twice, and never touch it. I start hear the older stuff to recover from the bad shock. :(
I am not also fan of the Precure series, never seen any one, and honestly I do not want to see it. Too much TV series and movies, and I have better animes to waste my time with.

EDIT:
OK I finfished now listening to it.... and I see nor "GOD" nor "AWSOME" in this. 0.o-
Specially stuff already provided in the last movie soundtrack of precure all stars, and again repeated in here...
Only tracks I like are:

Track 21

and that is pretty much the real good track.
Takanashi does better this.
Please, if you area reading this, go away from precure merchandise T.T.

I'm not trying to offend you or anything, Orie. Precure was something I never really got into at first (I still liked it, but it didn't become a full-on obsession for me until Heartcatch) so I haven't heard everything Yasuharu Takanashi has to offer yet. My internet's not always reliable, so I can't always grab the soundtracks (especially considering some of the older Precure soundtracks are getting harder and harder to find).

The reason I like Takanashi's Precure music is because he mixes a lot of stuff into it. I liked the orchestral vibes in a lot of the Heartcatch tracks (guitar doesn't always do it for me, though the Heartcatch Orchestra theme was pretty damn epic), and the vocals of the Suite themes were pretty cool, IMHO.

I'm just saying that I like the music in Smile Precure, and if you think he's losing his touch, that's your opinion and I respect that. I'm not one of those people who constantly argues (I see enough of them on the internet). Basically, all I'm saying is that I like this soundtrack and that's it. Now, if you'll excuse me, I gotta go find that Towards the Terra soundtrack...

Should give this a listen before expressing an opinion. But one of the most authentic listeners here, Orie, was not so happy with that. So I do not think I will :)

Edit: Track 14 till now and I think it is good. Yasuharu Takanashi touch is obvious. For the Precure Series he tried to keep the same level for all of this series OSTs. To me this series's music was from Average to good but not perfect. So it is for the latest OST.

We can not deny that Yasuharu Takanashi has been, and will continue to be, one of the most wonderful composers ever. Though he has been working on many OSTs to be released on time. I guess he is overloaded. Which might reduce the temper for his music a bit. However, the one who has been seeing Naruto will definitely realize that Yasuharu Takanashi is keeping his big guns their. I am certain that the Next Naruto Shippuden TV series OST, not the movie, will be amazing.
In the end, two thing we should keep in mind for all composers. First the series. Second our mood when hearing the music ;)

You never get offended that easily. :) Expressing opinions is good, specially very cool ways of seeing things. ;)
I am at peace with you. :)

Don't know if you know Daisuke Ishiwatari. The man is the composer and creator of the game series "Guilty Gear". Yasuharu Takanashi was his apprentice in guitar stuff. Yasuharu Takanashi was in a lot of Guilty Gear music. The beginning of Takanashi in anime/sentai soundtracks a lot of his guitar compositions sounded very much similar to what he used to play in Guilty Gear. But he has been evolving in composition like wise.
After I got some old soundtracks of him, I got the proof that the man came out of Daisuke Ishiwatari "hand" already evolved. I was amazed in how .. he really is good in composing his own style.
My reason to like Yasuharu Takanashi, at first, was his soundtracks on anime horror tune and the fact he used a lot of traditional Japanese instruments.
I point Naruto Shippuden, Shin Hokuto no Ken, Ayakashi ~Classical Japanese Horror~, Mononoke.. and Jigoku Shoujo. This is where I got his own style and I was amazed. I recomend you those soundtracks, except the 3rd Jigoku Shoujo series soundtrack, it has his moments, but very less Yasuharu Takanashi. Yasuharu Takanashi's guitarrist (Kenji Fujisawa) and synthesizer (Hiromi Mizutani) are the main composers in here. Yasuharu Takanashi tunes are the best , yes.
Yasuharu Takanashi Orchestral in strings and piano are emotional and sensitive. He composes in such a freaking way that you really feels things comming out of those. *.* You really feel it is something composed, just because, it was composed. I have always made freak out with those tunes.

If you are looking for stuff you can't seem to find send me a pm, I will gladly help as I can. :)

Are are some Takanashi stuff I uploaded.
