This collection presents all the Apocalypse Now soundtrack material in the best quality available. Part one is the official soundtrack album to Apocalypse Now Redux; itself expanding and remastering the original 1979 album. The CD is HDCD encoded, utilizing HDCD's peak-extension feature. It was decoded for this release using hdcd.exe. (Thanks to the local library for lending the album.) Lesser known than the three original soundtrack versions (the third being the 2-disc edition (Thread 113847) with dialogue) are the Apocalypse Now Sessions by the The Rhythm Devils (part two in this collection). Exclusive to this collection and all-new is set three featuring a special movie version edit of The End as well as the end titles music in two versions. This package also contains the custom cover seen above.

I didn't know there was a soundtrack release for the redux version.I used to have the old CD and then, when the Redux version came out, I bought this one, too. To be honest, I didn't and still don't like the sound of the two new tracks - they sound cheesy somehow. As if not enough love was put into the performance. It should have been done with vintage synthesizers but instead it feels like being played on a cheap keyboard. They don't seem to feel right and fit right - even in the movie. I sold it again. I don't know why - it's a classy album nevertheless. These days, I'll just dial out the two new tracks and add track 3 of my lil EP plus the Rhythm Devils album. :)

However, I'm having trouble downloading the 3rd file. I can download around 200k
before it stops. Do you or anyone else knows how to solve this problem?

it was downloaded before with no problems reported. try erasing the incomplete 3rd file, restarting your client, even clear your browser's cache. then try again. maybe that helps. :)

Excellent quality (not comparable to mp3's) extra deep and quality bas is a most and can only be achieve with higher bitrate formats such as FLAC.

Fair enough, Sinus! I've been around for several years (since when the nice guy with the Tom Baker Doctor Who avatar seemed to have every cool soundtrack going, bootleg or otherwise). But I only joined up properly 3 years ago. I work in the UK as an errand boy sent by grocery clerks to collect a bill. :-)

This is an incredible collection and the final bonus EP is astounding! I've had to rethink my lower quality more music vs higher quality less music approach. These need to remain the quality you put them out at.
