the vids were cool but story so simple the vids were only making scenes excessively intimate..ending simple too...poor poor poor

Could you rephrase that for me?

ok I think the cg part was kinda cool but as for an ending I just come on this is not close to the ff endings we all now and lov now is it.

I wouldn't know, it's the first ff game i accually beat, but after i finish with the earlier ones then i probably will know what you're talking about.

Honestly I think the best part of the game was the vids. Though I do agree the story was too simple. They could have come up with more action.

I thought the FF movie ending blew. I didn't even get anything that Yuna said at the end and I was like" thats' it?":eye: That is CRAP!!!! My favorite video was probably the opening video or the one when the are at sea going to Luca I think and Sin attacks them.

The attak on Kilika was the only sad video in the game. VII and Ix had many sad moments( I haven't played VIII). That was another thing the should have had more of.

Yeah but the attack on Kilika was awesome though! It almost made you laugh seeing all of that stuff happen because of an oversized Humpback Whale.

I see the emotional impact of some of this game has missed the audience in some cases...

I did not laugh at all when Sin went through Kilika. In fact, I felt to myself "how would I feel if my family had been in that town with me. I have just lost everything: My life, my family, why were they taken and I was not?" I would also respect everyone for their attitude. "We have no choice, Sin will return, so we just have to rebuild and begin again."

There was a lot of emotion in the game, you just need to look for it.

No I didn't mean it like that. I just thought that the movie was cool but the fact that all the people were being killed didn't really bother me because it didn't show them getting killed just like if someone had a friend or spouse that died they don't react the same if they know they are dead compared to them knowing they are dead and then someone TELLING them that they are dead. Sort of like it isn't final until it is said.

*shakes her head*

Like Adam said, there's a lot of emotion in the game, but I begin to understand that some people are totally unwilling to find the emotion.

edit: sorry for the typos

I am perfectly willing to find the emotion. Anyways, back to subject. If they would have put as much time into the ending movie of 10 then it would have been a lot cooler because it was all a bunch of crap and such a waste of AWESOME graphics.

The ending movie of X was quite good, I thought. While I wouldn't rate it as highly as IX's, we all know that IX had a cliche ending. And X was unique in that it had a bittersweet note to it. True, they had won and Sin was vanquished for good, but at the core of it, everyone had lost a friend. Tidus had passed to the Farplane. That was it, as far as the party was concerned then.

So while Yuna was understandably happy that she'd achieved the thing that everyone on Spira had wished for, she also had a loneliness aching in her heart for the love that she had that had been ripped away from her.

Now tell me where in that description the ending is a waste of time?

I dind't say it was a waist of time. I said it was a waist of graphics. People want to see action and excitement not Yuna giving a speech reminiscent to the one by Queen Amidala in Episode 1(so BORING!)

You only speak for yourself, though.
I really didn't want ACTION in the ending cutscene. Or excitement. It was the ENDING, you know? Ending. AFTER the excitement and the action. Ending. It was over. Ending.

Sums my feelings up quite well.

An ending is like the summing up of the events that have occurred. Ergo, Sin is gone permanently. Hence why things are calm. "The Eternal Calm." Also, things are mooted because Yuna HAS lost someone so special.

But hey, each to their own.

Thank you for not choosing sides Bahamutzero, but I didn't really mean what I said and I apologize for wording it wrong. I meant that i would have liked it better if they would have showed like Tidus and Auron leaving or like make it where you fight em and then there is a movie of the very end of the fight included in the end movie, not just Yuna talking.

They did show them leaving. And why on earth should they have to fight them? o_o I don't really understand what you want.

I did think the ending could of done without that little speech.
Other than that It was an ok ending.
But landlord what are you talking about?:eye:

the speech in that i didnt mind too much but in x2 the (SPOILER) first ending u get the speach is like 5mins long....yeah...that was a really sht ending :o

Sorry fellas. I had a little too much to drink. What I mean is that it would be so much more cooler if that like 50 min. long speech would have been something more eventful. Like maybe a parade or something instead of a speech, ya know?

Cascara
03-07-2004, 12:59 PM
Ok gotcha! parade would of been kinda cool! why the hell didnt they do that instead?;)

Tokiko
03-07-2004, 01:28 PM
Probably because the makers of the game didn't want to have a parade at the end, but a speech. The effect of a parade would have been very different, it'd be lively and cheerful.
Frankly, this would not have been right. Yuna had just lost Tidus. It was way more fitting to have a calm, sad speech rather than a party.

Cascara
03-07-2004, 02:12 PM
yeah but still...
It just feels like a gloomy ending speech doesnt fit in a story full of dispair. You would think that since its the ending then its also the ending of their sorrow. Or maybe thats just me. Whatever just for the record I personally dont think it fits. kinda felt like repetition to me.:eye: :eye: :eye: :eye:

Tokiko
03-07-2004, 02:33 PM
Well, Tidus did disappear, so you cannot really call it the end of all sorrow. Their sorrow isn't just gone at once. The wounds are still too fresh, and it will take a long time for them to heal. Now there's the hope that they will heal, since Sin is gone. But right after the game there is no pure joy, because the departure of certain characters has made us sad.

Cascara
03-07-2004, 03:15 PM
Yeah I guess.
For lack of a better word X in general was somewhat of a "downer", I suppose theres no reason for square to change that all the sudden in the ending. But oh well ! Its still a good game with a questionable yet suitable ending. At least I think.:p

Landlord of Sector 7
03-07-2004, 04:37 PM
Yeah but it is like on Star Wars Episode 1. Obi Wan looses Qui-Gon but the world is saved so there is something to rejoice about and rejoicing can ease pain. And besides, none of the people of Spira knew or cared about Tidus so why do they have to be involved in Yuna's sorrow?

Cascara
03-07-2004, 05:48 PM
yeah thats right spira had no idea.
But they all lost someone one way or another due to sin.
And the speech took place not to long after.
Like misao said the wounds still needed time to heal.
I think eventually they had some sort of celebration.
But I dont think that square wanted to end it like that.;)

I have serious problems with my dad.... when tidus clapped his dad's hand after he jumped of the airship i bawled my eyes out, this was by far the most human of all Final Fantasy games...i loved every second of it.... its beautiful...gorgeous, and the ending as was already said....had a very bittersweet touch...only when you try to relate to the characters and story you can start to understand, if you wanna talk about it superficially there wont be much to find...cause its not a superficial game :) i loved it!!!
btw... i just beated it for the first time...
