Believe it or not, 256 AAC is BETTER than 320 MP3. I mean, 320 AAC is obviously better than 256, but if we're talking about iTunes purchased files, then 256 is what I'll be referring to.

I did a test a few days ago- MP3 (at 320) clips more information than 256 AAC. That is why I no longer encode in MP3. And the funny thing is that if you encode a 256 iTunes purchased file into 320 MP3, you lose information.

This is based on hearing/spectrogram tests.

I was just about to make that point. Someone also uploaded MIB3 and said it was a "320kbps iTunes rip". iTunes only goes up to 256kpbs.

I finally got my hands on the FLAC version of this score (from the CD I assume) and a lot of the artifacts I heard are thankfully not present in the final CD. Some distortion is clearly intentional but otherwise it sounds much improved. I will be uploading a fresh VBR V-0 soon encoded from FLAC so you can hear for yourself. I will not be posting the FLAC though.

For God's sake. It means that it's the orchestral sheets of the score, before being played. It has all the notes of every instrument used in the score, including choir, and synth percussions.
