Just dropping in to show my support for a rip of this game's music. I've been a fan of Motoi Sakuraba's work since Mario Golf, and his music in the Mario sports never disappoints.

Might as well ask, Anyone mind a SFX-rip? The characters oddly make annoying grunts if you don't serve. D: I can pause the game, and have that SFX play, or havethe second-loop play with zero sfx. Majority wins.

The rips Xplain did seem to be not-second looped but I haven't heard all of the songs. I don't know how they got it sfx-less but I'll see what I can do.

What I'm waiting for, is for people to be able to actually rip music from 3DS games. IMO, the word "ripping" does not mean "recording from the game", but, I think of it as meaning "extracting the audio files from the ROM", or whatever.

E.g. 2sf for DS. Also, I wonder what the format will be. (Note that 3sf already exists... IIRC it's something to do with the GameCube, http://www.hcs64.com/mboard/forum.php?showthread=39).

GameXplain said that he had to edit together the openings and combine it with the rest when the music repeats to avoid having sound effects recorded too...maybe you should do the same. ;) So, Injustu, how are we doing with Mario Tennis Open? I'm curious to know, my friend... :)

I have a bad feeling... I really don't want any SFX in the songs whatsoever, but, at the same time, I don't want the guy to stress himself out over getting audio from a Mario game...

Or you know...atleast have a fuckin' sound test within the game. That would make everyone's live easy. But sadly...there isn't.
Our best bet now is to either wait for Injustu to upload his rip of MTO or wait until an OST to MTO comes out.
If you ask me, I would rather go with the former. Because there's a mouse fart's chance that Nintendo will even release an OST to this game.

Well, Nintendo released a Pilotwings Resort, Mario Kart Wii, and Kid Icarus: Uprising soundtrack on the Japanese Club Nintendo, so anything could happen.

And they DID release a soundtrack for the original Mario Tennis.

As it seems no one will do it. Well, if I could just find my jack, I'll try to record the tracks though it will have SFX, not a pro at this.

Also (sorry for double post but I think it's worth it), there's a guy on YouTube who started ripping the game's soundtrack in High Quality. I sure would love too to have a SFX-free rip but I'm not an expert at this but I'm just getting sick of waiting so instead of waiting, I'm trying to record it on my own. I'll try as much as possible to have no SFX but can't promise you anything.

No good - it contains SFX. Quality is fine otherwise.

Can't do much about SFX, I've said it before but it was the quality that was disturbing as to know wheter or not, it's good.

Between 1995 and 2001, we'd get a soundtrack for most of the major Mario games, and then suddenly literally nothing until 2008. Why they didn't release a Super Mario Sunshine soundtrack I'll never know, for example. They REALLY need to make a soundtrack for Mario Tennis Open, if it's as good as people say. Heck, why not Mario Kart 7, and Super Mario 3D Land?

The only things that are missing, are the Boss (Galaxy Arena) theme, and, the retro courses, but then, they'd consider that pointless since they're based on existing tunes, even though some of them actually sound different, particularly the retro battle themes.

Heck, it's actually REALLY hard to rip USFs, and they've been around for ages. If I knew how to rip USFs, I'd be able to get the PAL version of the Mario Golf Intro, as well as other unripped games for the N64.

btw, the audio is apparently this low quality in the game (i wouldn't know for sure because i've never played it, i just have it because i like motoi sakuraba xD).

There are more tracks than that in the game
There's also download play version of the music where it has more limited instruments playing the music.
And there's also another song that plays especially in the final cup.

I definitely hope not. Having music would be nice, but cracking the games will most definitely mean illegal downloading of roms, which will be a bad thing. I hope the 3DS doesn't get cracked until near the end of its life.

as far as I know, people already have the roms, they just can't decrypt them yet to get to the music. and besides, while downloading roms is illegal, game companies really don't give a damn about people extracting music from them. they try to combat piracy, not game music extraction/emulation/sharing.

For the intro theme, it can be edited to cut the SFX out, in one cut you'll leave it completely normal, and the other cut involves pressing start at certain times to make the SFX appear at a different time and then editing it together so it doesn't have the sfx
