I know, I KNOW, another Batman Begins upload?? I know
But for starters, this one has some music not found on the 3CD Recording Sessions or the original OST... F/X free and of the same sonic quality of that upload. UNFORTUNATELY the new music does not include the 2 most sought after cues, The Courthouse (Part 2) and Canisters / On The Roof :( . Ive still not obtained F/X free versions of those.
But what IS new is:
-Crane Warns Rachel. In the film, the music for this scene was tracked in from Gordon At Home and Meeting Rachel. Ive mixed those 2 cues in a manner reminiscent of what was heard in the film, but with smoother edit points. In the film its kinda jarring, but with dialogue and f/x over-top its not as noticeable. However, when trying to create a complete and pleasant listening experience for myself of just the score, I wanted it to flow much more naturally. (D1 Track 11 00:00-01:55)
-an additional 1m 37sec of Batman Visits Gordon (D1 Track 14) at 01:27-02:44.
And a new, more accurate ending at 03:53-04:03.
-the film accurate ending of Fight In Cranes Lab, 45sec (D2 Track 4) at 06:27-07:15.
Secondly, a fair number of cues have been mixed together representing more accurately how they were heard in the film. But again, just as with Crane Warns Rachel, if the actual editing, segueing etc used for the film is too jarring I tend to do it somewhat differently. My goal with this, as many of my uploads, isnt to be completely 100% anal retentive about it, but rather enjoy it.
There are also a handful of cues that should be mixed together, but I decided not to again, for reasons of what I call the flow. For example, Final Confrontation should lead immediately into The Train Fight, but I just wasnt doing it. (I did try it a couple different ways than what was in the film, but I still felt that it didn't flow nicely, so.)
Thirdly, other things of minute note:
-Initiation / Temple Fight / Saving Ducard now has the Main Theme inserted back into the final seconds of the cue.
-Dockyard Ambush is now clean where it was once distorted.
-A cleaner ending on Rachel Attacked
-Batman On Fire is now more film accurate, encompassing pieces of both versions found on the 3CD set.
-The Batmobile Chase is now sonically more exciting in terms of the orchestra, as opposed to the flat and muted orchestra (somewhere behind all the percussion) of the 3CD version.
-A Cleaner Ending on Danger Over
-End Credits (Part 2) This is merely the track from the 3CD set titled Batman Theme. Roughly a minute and a half is tacked onto the End Credits, but I much prefer the entire piece, so I separated it from the rest of the End Credits.
Oh, and lastly... I RARELY omit cues from a score I like this much, but I did give Bruce's Discomfort the ax. Not only because it was barely used... but mostly because I just didn't need it. I can live without it...
So, I hope those who enjoy this score may give this a try and enjoy a different version of it too!
