So how many times have you guys/ and girls beaten Final Fantasy VIII? I haven't played it in awhile, but the times I did beat it were about 5 times ^_^ lol.

If we're talking about complete playthroughs from the start of disk 1 through to the end of disk 4, I had two playthroughs with a third started before the game grew old.

If we're talking about just the ending itself, I've lost count.

Yes I meant like, how many times have you beaten the game from Disk 1 to the end of Disk 4. The game didn't really get old, but I just kinda stopped playing it for some reason.

Despite all that, I haven't even played the game for over a year, so you can tell that I really used to enjoy it. :p

From beginning to end 8 times. Different character builds tried, use different characters in general, master the card game, etc etc.

all i can say is toooooooo many times. it soooo easy to beat. the monsters are even harder than the boss. i loved the ending though. very cool.

One of the remarkable things about this game is the depth and innovation (even if a bit flowed) ambitions of this game.

You can refine magic, turn magic into other magic, use items for potions, there is just a lot that can be done in this game and had the deepest gameplay to date for a Final Fantasy (except for maybe Final Fantasy XI or Final Fantasy Tactics).

I don't know anymore, but quite a few. Several on PC and once or twice on Playstation.

Having reached the end, I realised I hated it, and never wanted to play it again... Eh, who knows, maybe I'll play it some time soon...

I've beaten it 8 times, this is with getting absolutley everything in the game (and I mean everything). I still like to start the game up every now and then, but I have quite a few Final Fantasy's that it takes a while for when I come back around to play one of them again.

like five times, i think ive had it for like for three years or four no three yeah and i never got the lionheart, but i accidently on my first time through had all the gfs exept for pandamona and someone else

I haven't beat it a single time though I have seen my brother beat it and sort of helped him. I get to the end of Disc 3 and start doing EVERYTHING else and forget about finishing:D My last game had 170 hours on it:D

Finish it. The last boss isn't that great, but the ending is awesome.

I have seen the ending from my brother's game and I agree it is great (Especially when Fujin pushes Raijin in the water, LMAO!:D ) and I HAVE faced Ultimecia and Griever but I only had attack and magic cause I don't know where all of the monsters that give you back your abilities are and so I lost. If only it wasn't for Griever's ultimate attack.

Who brought this thread up? Agent brought it to my attention (even though I am not a mod) that this thread is over two years old and who is the whacko that started posting on it again? I looked around and I don't even think that Safer Sephiroth is here anymore and he is the one that started the thread.

I have played through the entire game 9 times, i am currently on my 10th and 11th time right now. The end though i have finished billions of times, i just go there when i get bored, and watch everyones limit breaks while killing omega, then also while killing ultimecia.

5 times. Every time I try to do a different party and go for different things. It never gets old.

Once: After seeing the ending, which is pretty terrible, I decided to stay away from this game for a long time. The ending made FFVIII the worst one so far, and I believe most people would agree.

I'm playin it through a second time, not sure why though?

I thought the ending of VIII was pretty good.

***SPOILERS.***

I mean, you've got the climax of a struggle that spans most of time (similar to FF1, as it turns out, though going forwards instead of backwards...) You've got the creation of the loop of sorcery power (similar to the time loop in FF1, Ultimecia passes her powers to Edea, who passes them to Rinoa, who passes them down to Ultimecia, and so on.)

Then you've got Squall trying to find his way back home. He feels that he's been abandoned at first, when he remembers his love for Rinoa, who is waiting for them at the place he told her he'd be if they got split up. And then he returns. And all is well.

We see how some of the other characters got on too. Seifer, Laguna, etc. A nice summing up of what the story was all about: That love eventually conquers all adversary.

:) I at least think that VIII is not that bad a FF... Some bits of it were weird, but it was overall not that bad.

I have beatin Final Fantasy 8 13 & 1/2 times right now i'm on my half playing it agen im on the second CD thats why its 13 & 1/2. Each time I lurn something new.^_^

Yes, I've beaten Omega Weapon. I'm sure a lot of us have. If you really want to impress us, riddle us this: have you ever beaten it without tossing Holy Wars or using Selphie's The End?
