You can convert from wma-lossless to flac using foobar. Simply install foobar2000 from this link:

http://www.foobar2000.org/files/5ce9a905d1931ef082eb9c9998f170de/foobar2000_v1.1.11.exe

Then download the flac encoder from here:

http://www.rarewares.org/files/lossless/flac-1.2.1b.zip

open the zip file and copy flac.exe to the directory that foobar2000 is installed (probably C:\Program Files\foobar2000 or C:\Program Files (x86)\foobar2000 if you have a 64 bit computer). Once flac.exe is copied to the directory, simply open foobar2000, drag the songs you want to copy to flac into the window, highlight all of them, and right click. A little menu should pop up, choose convert then ... from the menu. A screen will now come up where you can click "Output Format". After clicking this, simply choose FLAC then the back button and then the convert button. You will then be asked which directory to save the converted files to and then you are done. Hope this helps!!

Mine is the 1998 release. If Amanda would up the Windows Lossless of the 2010 version i would like to give it a listen too. Do you still want this one alchemical STCE-01-02 - 1998?

The 1998 edition would be great. I actually touched base with Amanda about the 2010 re-release and she says she doesn't have it anymore, she deleted it because there's really no difference between the two editions. Thanks for the upload, much appreciated Spectre.

I do not have the reissue simply because there is no new music on it. Not one scond of new music. The Super Tracks set is complete. I did have a flac copy of the new set, and compared side by side, there was NO diference in sound or quality, so I deleted it, and never bother to ordered it. Speculation has been that the new set was relesed because the old one was out of print and difficult to find. Either way, if you have the Super Tracks, then you have the new one.

Actually the LLL issue of Krull is remastered but not to a sonic leap forward level to instantly note a difference. I can't compare both because i don't have the Super Tracks edition, but on another forum someone compared the two CD's and noted that:

"...The differences between the La-La Land Krull and the Super Tracks are extremely subtle. They're a bit more apparent in some of the more delicate tracks (harp plucks, clearer strings) and the stereo soundfield is slightly more natural, but it's not like the Super Tracks album ever really sounded that bad, really. The brass isn't quite as cutting as it is in the original release, which is an improvement, but there are some tracks where the Super Tracks mix was slightly more strident. Overall, however, the La-La Land mastering is the one I find clearer."

As for the music itself there's no new music on LLL release that wasn't on the Super Tracks album. The biggest change on the new release is that the tracks are now sequenced in chronological order, moving the album versions of theme of Krull and the love theme at the end of disc 2 as bonus tracks.
There's also another bonus track ''The Walk to the Seer's Cave'', which is just an abridged version of the original track.

Are the Cue and Log files in the archives or do you have them? If so, could we have them?
And Thanks again for these!

They are not in the archives. I dont know how to create cue and log files, i ripped the CD's on dbpoweramp.

Here is a mp3 version: Thread 88697

Many programs can create a cue file which is mainly just detailing exactly how the tracks appear on the CD so that an exact copy can be made. Log files are just a reassurance that the CD ripped properly. Both are usually done when using Exact Audio Copy to do the rip. I am not familiar with dBPowerAmp...

Sanico, Do you find the sound quality to be better on this new set? I have the previous 2 disc and had always been happy, but i am curious.

Sanico
09-03-2012, 07:22 AM
Like i said i don't have the supertracks edition to make a fair comparison, however someone with both sets made his own evaluation which i quoted for this same thread before: http://forums.ffshrine.org/f96/krull-complete-score-james-horner-2010-2-a-112552/#post1993026

Oh, I have to say, you seems to be really a little gourmet ;)
Incidentally, I prefer my chocolate-fruit ice cream with hot raspberries and sometimes with balsamic vinegar. I know, I know a little bit weird, but it owns this special note which I like.
And my pleasant anticipation really goes sky high.^.^
