On the score - it's truly my favorite film score. I've adored it since I was a little guy, and I can't a more satisfying score for my ears.

Just got my copy this morning, listened to it in the best conditions possible, and it's truly a masterpiece. Just like Tango, it's the presentation of the score I've been waiting for since i've been a kid seeing the movie at the theater...

If you enjoyed it, I strongly recommend buying a copy. Definitely one of the best releases so far this year.

Arguing over whether or not this should be posted is largely pointless now; it has been posted and until a decision is taken to ban it, nothing will make it go away. I can at least applaud posters from holding off on the inevitable FLAC upload. Appealing to morality doesn't work. Those who would have bought it will buy it, and those who wouldn't, won't.

At this point in time, all I can say is I'm delighted it was released, I'm delighted it is selling well, and I hope that everybody gains as much pleasure from it as I have today. :)

Well it really wasn't up to La La Land, it was up to the man himself, John Williams. And when it comes to his scores on albums he masterfully weaves "listening experiences" together to his liking... He's never been too concerned with whether the music he feels is essential to the listening experience actually made the film cut or not. 9 times out of 10 he likes to present the music as he wrote it, not what he was told to re-write.

I trust John Williams' judgment. It's an album, not an archive.

Alternates are more often than not wastes of disc space.

Our Ears do not deceive us. I've rewound that movie 10-20 times in a row and that's what I heard Roofio call Pan. I don't care what the subtitles say. They are dead wrong!

I have the La-La Land version of this score (and it's well worth having—one of the Maestro's finest). But I would dearly, dearly love to get the sheet music for it. I'm not above begging.

You've never heard it? It's one of his 90's masterpieces. It's better than the movie deserves, frankly. Some years ago, in commenting on the music, I wrote: "This score demonstrates why John Williams is Steven Spielberg's perennial happy thought."
