Thanks for the score mate!! I appreciate it! I couldn't get it via amazon.co.uk and play.com because I don't have a UK credit card. Besides that In Germany (amazon.de) this score will be released on the 30th of March :-( Anway thanks for the upload!! I can't wait to listen to it ^_^

Horn of Plenty was written by Arcade Fire, but JNH arranged for a orchestral and choral rendition during the parade scene, and as a recurrent theme through the film.

crap didn't realize it was that short. I thought someone said something about 80 mins of music, odd.

edit: is it just me or does this rip sound 'mono-ish'? :/

JNH wrote 80 minutes of music for the movie, it was in a interview when he was making his concert on Dallas.

ah... confusing though as to why only 45 mins were released then, when you could easily include 80 mins on a full cd. even omitting those few 5-7 second cues, would've made more sense I think o.O

oh well.

mgm5215
03-26-2012, 06:52 PM
Even with 30-40 minutes scores they don't include all the music (the ngel Illarramendi's scores, Powell's Stop Loss). Also, it's 45 minutes including Katniss Afoot and The Countdown which they aren't in the movie.

Maybe something similar to The Last Airbender's problem with the choir, only here they just put 45 minutes 'cause 80 minutes could have been expensive.
Still, it's quite good if a tad short.

as far as I know regardless how much music you put on a CD, it still costs the same to make. (I'm talking about storage, er, memory wise, not regarding copyrights and stuff like that.) anyone care to update me or am I correct?

Seems that we have to wait until the complete score gets leaked in a couple of years, like the other JNH scores.

The chorus is terribly low mixed on the CD, in the movie had a better mix.

I was taking about Hunger Games. It's the same thing again. The CD has the choir low mixed (maybe a synth one), and in the movie you can hear it better. And, there was a problem with American Federation of Musicians because the score was recorded in London, not in US.

I could barely hear the choir in the film anyway. I can't imagine how much quieter it could be on a CD. I was going to dl this to check it out but after watching the film I'm not going to bother. The music is not at all the style I want when listening to scores at home.

I barely heard any choir on those in the film, perhaps my theater didn't do a very good job with the audio.

Maybe. Though I saw the movie in digital format on a screening. Also, film version of Horn Of Plenty has a wordless choir, not performing lyrics like the CD.

How many times to a have to say that just because the word Wasp is in the title does not automatically mean it's the tracker jacker theme, it's NOT. Here, let me repost this list I made a couple days ago from the "District 12" thread:

Title
Artist
Additional Info
Scene Used (For Prexisting Music)

01 - The Hunger Games - James Newton Howard
02 - Deep In The Meadow (Lullaby) - Jennifer Lawrence and Willow Shields
03 - Farewell (or "Katniss Hunting" as listed on the website) - Evgueni Galperine and Mariana Tootsie
04 - Katniss Afoot - James Newton Howard (UNUSED, Replaced with "Farewell")
05 - Reaping Day - James Newton Howard
06 - The Train - James Newton Howard
07 - Entering The Capitol - James Newton Howard
08 - Preparing The Charriots - James Newton Howard
09 - Horn Of Plenty - Arranged by James Newton Howard, Composed by Arcade Fire
10 - Penthouse/Training - James Newton Howard
11 - Learning The Skills - James Newton Howard
12 - War - Hypnotic Brass Ensemble (Caeser's Tribute Interview Intro Music)
13 - The Countdown - James Newton Howard (I don't remember hearing it, but they might've used the beginning,)
14 - Sediment - Laurie Spiegel (Right when Katniss comes up the tube and onto her pedistal that each of the tributes are on. When everything is very bright and her eyes are disoriented.)
15 - A Wasp On Her Adbomen - Chas Smith
16 - Three Movements For Orchestra, Mvt. 1 - Lower Austrian Tonknstler Orchestra and Kristjan Jrvi (Chorus Sine Nomine Conductor)
NOTE: 15 and 16 are mixed together in the film to make the Cornucopia Fight Sequence and Katniss' Flee to the woods.)
17 - Healing Katniss - James Newton Howard
18 - Allt Var Hljtt - Olafur Arnalds (Katniss remembers her father being blown up in the mines.)
19 - Mockingjay Call - Lionsgate (Jennifer Lawrence)
20 - Booby Trap - James Newton Howard
21 - Rue's Farewell - James Newton Howard
22 - Searching For Peeta - James Newton Howard
23 - The Cave - James Newton Howard
24 - We Could Go Home - James Newton Howard
25 - Muttations - James Newton Howard
26 - Tenuous Winners - James Newton Howard (This is the first minute or so of, Tenuous Winners/Returning Home)
27 - Marissa Flashback - The Chemical Brothers (Yes, Originally from "Hanna") (When the Hovercraft comes to pick them up and Haymitch tells Katniss the situation.)
28 - Returning Home - James Newton Howard (The rest of Tenuous Winners/Returning Home)
29 - Abraham's Daughter - Arcade Fire
30 - Safe & Sound - Taylor Swift Featuring The Civil Wars
31 - Kingdom Come - The Civil Wars

Any further inquiries ask me. Im working on an expanded score too, so ill put that out at some point. Some significant edits need to be done to "Marissa Flashback", and 15 and 16 to get them to sound like the film, so Im working on that. Seriously guys, i've done my research. I know for sure how this score goes.

I'm hoping sometime we get the full score to this film. James Newton Howard's scores usually ended up getting released in full somehow correct? Even though the Hunger Games is a bit of a unique score, I really hope that the full thing does get released sometime soon.

Well If you listen to old records (in other words: vinyl) than you do care for quality! Just another type...records have another type of sound, some even say it much richer than digital music...
Much digital music <128 kbps doesn't have any depth and warmth your old records do have...however much they're scratched..
