Okay, so I recently got hold of a Final Fantasy X copy that has "Not to be sold seperately" on the front of the cover.
Now.. I don't recollect there being a SE package of some sort of Final Fantasy X.
So I guess my question is; do you guys know what this game is a part of? Or is it a promo or something? Thaaanks!

*Oh and it's a PAL-version, FYI.

I'm sorry Phoe, I don't moderate the FFX section and I rarely if ever browse it so I didn't notice your request for help. :(

From what I understand, games which have 'not to be sold separately' or 'not for individual sale' usually are part of a collector's edition that include other items bundled with the game (for instance, I have the PAL FFVIII Collector's Edition which included a memory card, memory card stickers, t-shirt and poster along with the game in a nice collector's box; and the copy of the game that was included in that package has the 'Not to be sold separately' on the back cover.)

As for a 'Collector's Edition' of FFX, although I'm unaware of any such version of the scope like the FFVIII set I just mentioned, the original PAL version of FFX did include a making-of DVD bundled with it called 'Beyond Final Fantasy' (from what I understand, this edition was only available to those who per-ordered the game), so I presume that's what the cover is referring to (and yes, I possess this version of FFX too, with bonus DVD included).

In any event, I believe the 'Not to be sold separately' label is an attempt to stop people separating the individual items in such collector's versions and then reselling them.

Yay, thanks for the reply! ^^

Yes, I am aware that those versions usually have "not to be sold seperately" on them, and thats why I bought it in the first place ;)
I also have the original. The bonus-dvd, however, came with all the originals. Pre-ordered or not.

This "not to be sold seperately" case also has the bonus dvd, only difference is that the case is black instead of blue.
I would really love to know where it originates from.

On a side note: Amg, you're so lucky! *-* I have been searching for that edition of Final Fantasy VIII for ages!

Aww, I'm not really lucky - sadly due to a disastrous hurried house-move, I've since lost most of the contents of the FFVIII Collector's Edition - I now only have the actual game itself (discs and jewel case/manual) and the memory card that came with the pack. Everything else is gone, including the box. :(

On top of that, my brother damaged the first disc when I lent it to him many years ago and thus it now sadly freezes on the opening movie (it works fine beyond that).

Hence I'm now somewhat obsessive about protecting my collection now, for good reason. ;)

Oh noes \: I'd so totally make him find and buy a new one!!

Sadly, I know exactly what you mean. I owned 2 PS2's (one was just black and when I saw the limited aqua edition I just HAD to have it) so I let my sister borrow my black one.. she broke it.
She also busted up one of my Gamecube-controllers.
Now, this is nothing compared to the next; I once let my ex borrow Suikoden (the first one, pretty rare nowadays) then after we broke-up he totally seemed to have "forgotten" to ever having borrowed it!

So yeah the conclusion; NEVER EVER lent out your precious games! ):

I know this is off topic a little bit but does anyone know if Final Fantasy X was ever ported over to PC?

As far as I'm aware, it wasn't. I do recall hearing about a possible PC port for the game around 2001/2002 (that Square had done a deal with Dell to supposedly pre-install a hypothetical FFX PC version on new Dell PCs sold in Japan), but I never heard anything more about it, so I presume it never eventuated.

I think the only way to play it on PC would be through a PS2 emulator.

Not the answer I was hoping for but thanks regardless.
