We have one person MAYBE on it, and if he isn't, I'll be forced to put money down for all of this. At the very least, I can contribute : KDSD-00541~2 | GRAVITY DAZE Original Soundtrack - VGMdb (http://vgmdb.net/album/31308) apparently has the entries for which track is what, so it should make ripping and tagging easier for anyone who isn't me. It wasn't too terribly hard to find, though. It also posts two links to sites you can buy it on the right bar.

Raiden007

Ha, well I'm a dick so I had to be difficult about it. Plus I kinda dislike people counting on easy freebies here.
But anyways, yes you can at least expect one rip from me unless someone else posts it by then.
Can't say when it will arrive for sure, could be a week, could be less, could be more. Ordered it on the 20th and I don't sit here counting days.

@ Raiden007 : there are plenty of active asian sites out there that post VGM and anime music. For example astost.com
The rules can be harsh to newcomers, but it's up to you how bad you want to get the stuff you like. Here's a guide that will help you to get started:
Walkthrough/TUT for astost leeching | Doujincore (http://doujincore.com/?p=6666)

Or rutracker.org (torrent site)

And by the way, of course VGMdb is the first place to go to for any album information like release dates, prices, composers, track names, links to shops etc.
I think when making a request it should be a no-brainer to post a VGMdb reference link to show people what are you talking about.

SBKT, nobody's "forcing" you to buy or not buy anything, you can still purchase it even after getting a rip off the Internet, it's always nice to legitimately own the favorite albums.

"I kinda dislike people counting on easy freebies" & "I don't sit here counting days" Guess your more hyped about getting fame on forums from sharing OST's than actually listing to the OST yourself. Its clear your doing all this just to build up suspense so that when you do finally drop the link you get internet fame. I couldn't care less if you did upload it now, i'm purchasing it for myself as this soundtrack is a must have in anyones collection.

Who's courting fame? All he said was that he's ordered the soundtrack and is less than impressed with the sudden deluge of people hammering on about "When will you upload it, when will you upload it??? NOW NOW NOW!"

He's paid his money and is looking forward to receiving the album. He paid for it, therefore he's entitled to have it. We're not paying for it and are therefore reliant on the kindness and generosity of somebody who might like to share it. We can never expect or assume; only politely request and accept that the answer may occasionally be "no".

For myself, I do hope that some kind soul does share it, as a bit of negative cash flow means I won't be in a position to buy it until at least June. All signs point to this being a splendid score and, being Kohei Tanaka, I'm looking forward to it immensely. :)

No one is hammering about it, everyone here has said thanks and appreciates him for doing it. No one has been screaming "NOW NOW NOW, UPLOAD NOWWWW".I said what i said about him wanting Internet fame because if he's gonna state he's got it coming and then try to be stingy about not uploading it and getting annoyed about people going wild over freebies then he shouldn't upload osts in the first place, people get greedy over osts and never put an ounce of money in the composers pocket. I for one purchase OSTs and my latest purchase was the FF13-2 Limited Edition OST which set me back 50. I've ordered the Gravity Daze Soundtrack for myself now so i'll just count down the days till it arrives.

By far my favourite song in the game, has a really nice studio ghibli vibe to it. While playing the demo i would stroll around for hours while this song plays, probably something i've never done before in a video game.

I see this different. You were the first to ask for a estimation of the arrival time. Why ask in the first place when you don't want to pressure the other party? First of all shipping time estimations are a fuzzy business, and then again the arrival date doesn't have to coincide with the date on which MiL rips and uploads the album (if he does at all).
No, asking for these estimations just does lead to one thing: "Annoyed" people who start to rage-bump threads after the estimated time is up.

I said what i said about him wanting Internet fame because if he's gonna state he's got it coming and then try to be stingy about not uploading it and getting annoyed about people going wild over freebies then he shouldn't upload osts in the first place, people get greedy over osts and never put an ounce of money in the composers pocket.
First of all you should do a reality check: Refusing a request is not stingy, it's his damn prerogative (also see tango's comment).
So you have the opinion that people are bound to rip+upload once they drop one word about getting the album. Seriously, just how fucked up is that?

I for one purchase OSTs and my latest purchase was the FF13-2 Limited Edition OST which set me back 50. I've ordered the Gravity Daze Soundtrack for myself now so i'll just count down the days till it arrives.
Why is this even relevant here? I also spend a shitload of money each month on soundtrack albums. And still I'm not denying MiL his right to refuse a request. What kind of logic are you applying here?!

tangotreats
03-23-2012, 11:20 PM
Indeed. Gratitude only lasts as long as folk believe an upload is forthcoming; if it turns out otherwise, it rapidly turns into "you stingy bastard, why do you boast about having it if you won't share it?!" and all the rest. It's exactly this sort of occurrence that leads people not to share.

I actually had more to say - but LiquidAcid has said it all and more.

I do hope that MiL's copy turns up soon and that he enjoys it. I also hope that he will share it for the benefit of the less fortunate. But I'm not going to abuse him if he doesn't, insult him, or call him names. It's up to him. If he does, I'll be very grateful. If he doesn't, well, I didn't have the album to start with and I still won't have it - so I've lost absolutely nothing. :)

Oh geez people, He can do what the hell he wants with his copy of the album, don't pester him.

Still, it is just a little mean of him to come to the "REQUEST" board (you know, the boards full of people WANTING the FREE OSTs cuz they likely can't afford to import) and say "I've got it coming, but I MAY NOT give it >D".
He should've just kept it to himself instead of instigating us. Just ignore him. If he does want to share, we'll be thankful and indebted, but no need to get your panties in a twist, guys.

agreed. Nobody looks for internet fame when uploading stuff. That's useless, as every damn thing uploaded in a point A of the internet will eventually be reshared on point B to Z (and further). Milo is entitled to share it or not. his decision. at the end of the day it is ALWAYS the guy who owns the CD who decides whether he is willing to share it or not. if he's willing, perfect? if not...well, too bad. still his prerogative though. His CD, his rules (yeah, I'm rambling)

Personally i do it for the sheer pleasure of it. someone asks for something, I have it, ergo, I provide. That's not to say I'm willing to share everything I have.

Oh, and by the way, you need to work on your manners. calling people "sad shits" and "poor shits" is at best a proof of being rude, immature, and ill mannered. At worst, you're a fucking troll.

I came in to check, and I feel kind of embarassed just reading mcmmaster's posts. I know I have little to contribute, and money is tight, but... Eh, I feel dirty now. I can't properly describe what I'm thinking.

I suppose I can try to summarize it in that I'd appreciate it if Milo uploaded, would understand if he didn't (and be kind of upset regardless), and would be willing to obtain and rip it myself if need be and my finances are ready.

Is that suitable?

Sorry for a delay, I was busy out there, ya know, getting famous.
Anyways as mentioned before, nothing really changed and I will be posting a proper rip of the OST at ffshrine.

mcmmaster, I don't count days not because the album means very little to me but because doing so isn't gonna make it get here any faster.
It arrives when it arrives. While it is understandable that people have a right to look forward to things - asking for ETA isn't a terribly good idea.
There had been examples of members displaying allegedly childish impatience at these forums, and even though it would be no surprise that majority of recurring visitors here are young teenagers, they just... well, need to learn and realize a few things sooner or later I guess.

Frankly in this case, I am admittedly more hyped about the game itself (which unfortunately had been delayed for all outside of Japan territories)
than its soundtrack, but it adds to the completeness of an overall awesome experience, which Gravity Daze is bound to be.

Don't really have anything else to say that wouldn't lead to some sort of debate on how people could/would/should behave on forums and who is entitled to what depending on his/her contributions vs profit ratio.

But either way, I'm actually glad that my "stingy" behavior contributed to your decision-making on purchasing the soundtrack.
Enjoy it when it reaches you.

Got an email today from Play-asia saying "Order Shipped" (Mar 27), while the order was placed on Mar 19. That's pretty much the only complaint I would have with their their website - sometimes it just takes too long to dispatch things.
There was a case I ordered a DVD once, and after about a month almost entirely forgot about it, then logged in to the account to look what's going on and it was still in "Preparing Order" status, so contacted them about it and it was revealed that the item has become discontinued, a refund had followed.

SBKT

It's nice to have an update.

And just saying, an ETA may be impossible, but if it isn't, it helps. It's nice to know what you're looking forward to has a set date, even if the date moves a little, because then you have something that is more solid to motivate you.

Like, think of it this way.

"Someday, I'll get a dog but I gotta clean all this up first" or "In a month, I can get a dog but I gotta clean up all this stuff first." There's a solid deadline in one and it motivates people to do stuff. Anything, even if it's unrelated.

That's my understanding anyways.

I experienced this dozens of times. Play-Asia has probably the worst stock overview of all onlineshops I know of. Part of the reason why I don't use them anymore. In the end ordering from them was more like gambling.

My first and last order with them was in 2008. An item that was shown as "in stock". Nothing happened for a month. I emailed them and they said "Wait another couple of weeks." After waiting for *another* month I emailed again and was told that the item had been out of print since 2003. Could've told me that before, you bastards! They said I'd get an immediate refund which I didn't and it took two further emails (and another six weeks) to finally get it.

Record shops in Japan are doing a little better than you'd expect... but there have been a few sad losses in recent years. HMV Shibuya closed down in 2010 - that was one AMAZING record shop. Shinjuku South is gone; I believe East is still there - haven't been for a while.

Tower (also in Shibuya) is still about; the last time I visited it was pretty busy - even on a week day at lunch time - and seemed to be doing OK. I really love that store. It will really be a sad day if and when it goes. They have an amazing anime and video game music section - and their selection of Western scores is just baffling. You can get FSM releases in there that have been out of print for years. It can be a little difficult finding your way around - the Western stuff is sorted alphabetically, but the Japanese stuff isn't...

Also in Shibuya is a fun little shop (just down the road from Tower) advertising "HOOLYWOD MOVES" (I shit you not) for very reasonable prices..

The battle theme & the city wondering song are by far the most magical, uplifting and soothing tracks i've heard in 2012 so far. When i played the demo it was 'Old Town' that really brought out this chilled wondering, cultural vibe that suited the games city's atmosphere immensely, it honestly felt like i was in a Studio Ghibli film. Had a nice powerful vibe that allured me to wonder around the city for hours. The battle theme was decent as well. Hopefully this soundtrack will release through digital software (itunes, amazon mp3) and when it does i'll definitely pay for those two tracks.

Nice share Qqqqqqwe, thanks a lot! Still waiting for my CDs to arrive in a meantime.

A couple words about the OST: I'd say it's a pretty diverse soundtrack incorporating music from different main genres, except maybe no techno (whatta hell!), which is why it could be referred to as a mixed bag, but in a good way. It definitely feels like a quality work, the composer knows what he's doing and his music will be probably fitting in pretty well with different situations in the game. Overall I think it's a good listen.

Some highlights for me are:

1.14 - Ruined Paths
1.18 - Gravity Crow
1.24 - Industrial Zone
1.26 - The Phantom of Hexa Ville
1.28 - Fascinating Paths

2.08 - Repugnance
2.19 - Douse Shinundakara (Instrumental)

The 24bit/48kHz version was released 2017.05.31, see: http://mora.jp/package/43000033/A53523/

Can someone provide the Hi-Res version?
