That's weird that people starting commenting on this after the OP had already found the music he sought. Also, Amanda, I don't understand why you said what you said about Dakota's quoting of your previous statement. He knows that's not what you said--he was paraphrasing your statement to have it say what he wanted it to say. Country music is pop music and therefore, he was shortening your quote to "We don't allow country music here" so then he could say that he doesn't consider country music to be music at all. Hope this all makes sense--I'm listening to NOT country music right now.

It doesn't matter what I said, it's not a big deal. Basically, I cannot stand country "music", and I do not consider it music, much like I do not consider golf a sport. And many would agree with me. I'm sure not everyone out there likes Rock music, but I do. Everyone likes something different

On that note: is cheer-leading a sport? Most cheer-leaders say yes it is.

Most cheerleaders are bimbos and don't know jack shit. Enough said

Well the original poster only requested a song of the upcoming various artists soundtrack of The Hunger Games. Since VA song albums are also allowed, regardless of their music genres, then obviously the OP can make the request or share it.

To make clear, any soundtrack, be it from anime, VGM, and TV/Film soundtracks, are allowed to post. The only other music genres accepted are classical music and j-pop albums.

I had figured that much but thanks for clearing it up Sanico.

Now, regarding The Hunger Games (which I cannot wai to see), anyone heard news about the score?

Just to clarify, you're saying that something like this: Thread 110979 is a valid request, whereas requesting Taylor Swift's latest album is not valid, right? Who decides what category requests like these fall into? I would have put this specific request into the latter category, personally.

EDIT: Now I see--if the song in this request was on a various artists release then it's okay. But had it not been on a VA release, it would have been inappropriate...?

The only thing i know is James Newton Howard did the music score and that will have a CD release.

Exactly. In this case the requested song 'Safe & Sound', it's on the VA release.

I'm actually really looking forward to The Hunger Games too, read the book (working on the second one), and the movie looks friggin sweeet! I especially love the marketing tactic of deciding to show virtually NOTHING from the actual games themselves. Now, I dont know alot about the score, not alot is out there, but I do have 10 songs form the movie already, 2 trailer songs, 2 songs (like with lyrics), and then 6 songs that are instrumental (score, if you will) in addition to James Newton Howard's score coming out on the...26th I think i read? But yeah if you want to get some songs to hold you over until the Various Artist Album comes out on the 20th, and the Score on the 26th, then i suggest you go looking for these songs:

-Trailer 1 Music: "Mercury" ~ Groove Addicts
-Trailer 2 Music: "Deep Shadow" ~ T.T.L. ( Tying Tiffany and Lorenzo Montana')
Available for Purchase Here: DEEP SHADOW (The Hunger Games - Trailer Soundtrack) | ZEROKILLED MUSIC | STORE (http://zerokilledmusicstore.com/track/deep-shadow-the-hunger-games-trailer-soundtrack)

-"Safe and Sound" ~ Taylor Swift (Yes I know it's listed here already)
Available for Purchase Here: iTunes - Music - Safe & Sound (From "The Hunger Games" Soundtrack) [feat. The Civil Wars] - Single by Taylor Swift (http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/safe-sound-from-hunger-games/id490735511)
-"One Engine" ~ The Decemberists
Available for Purchase Here (as well as preorder of the entire Soundtrack Album): The Hunger Games: Songs from District 12 and Beyond by Various Artists - Preorder The Hunger Games: Songs from District 12 and Beyond on iTunes (http://itunes.apple.com/us/preorder/hunger-games-songs-from-district/id501221093)

Plus, this is also available:
-"Mockingjay Call" ~ Lionsgate
Available for FREE Here: iTunes - Music - Hunger Games Mockingjay Call - Single by LIONSGATE (http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/hunger-games-mockingjay-call/id460554113)

Then, these are the songs that were listed in the Production Notes that are listed as being used in the film, but NOT included on the Soundtrack Album, and obviously not the score since they're not by James Newton Howard:
These are all available on iTunes, but double check the artists before you buy it, because there are different versions of some of them.
-"War" ~ Hypnotic Brass Ensemble
-"Sediment" ~ Laurie Spiegel
-"A Wasp On Her Abdomen" ~ Chas Smith
-"Three Movements For Orchestra, Mvt. 1" (Listed on iTunes As: "3 Movements: I. Quarter Note = 176-184 -") ~ Kristjan Jarvi & Lower Austrian Tonknstler Orchestra
-"Allt Var Hljtt" ~ lafur Arnalds

There is one more song I didn't find on iTunes and haven't tracked it down yet (Though surely it's just a simple google search away):
-"Farewell" ~ Evgueni Galperine and Mariana Tootsie

Before you ask any questions about the last six, they're from this list (which is from the Production Notes) and it's all over a bunch of sites so here's one of the many sources i got this from:
Lionsgate Releases Hunger Games Production Notes with NEW Details: Music & Sound | The Hunger Games (http://thehungergames2012.wordpress.com/2012/03/06/lionsgate-releases-hunger-games-production-notes-with-new-details-music-sound/)

But other than that i'm afraid I dont know anything about the music for the movie :( Sorry I couldn't be of more help. I'm eagerly awaiting at least a tracklist from James Newton Howards Score though, I'm sure it'll at least include "Horn Of Plenty" which is the National Anthem of Panem Written by "Arcade Fire" but done orchestrally for the movie by James Newton Howard. Hope this tiny bit of info helped at least some of you.

Oh hey cool! Well dang it appears that "Deep In The Meadow" (Lullaby) wont be on the score either, :/ well dang that's kind of disappointing. Could find Farewell by Evgueni Galperine from the score (used in the very begining during Katniss hunt and the hub scene). You can listen it here: galperine-galperine.com but it's not on I-Tunes yet! The JNH score is far from fantastic but still a few very good moments with folk or electronic sounds.

Um...pardon me...so you've HEARD James Newton Howard's score for the Hunger Games?

And wait is that actually "Farewell" or is it called "Katniss hunting"?

By looking at the tracklist i'd say that there's some possibility it might and up on the score as... "Katniss Afoot"? Idk. And im hoping that they include the lullaby in "Rue's Farewell" if not i'd find it very strange
