Perhaps we might need an accord-conformity here => Not to upload any LaLaLand titles in lossless unless they become "Sold Out" first. Only lossy rips, in other words, so that people would still buy a genuine copy if they crave so much for the lossless source.

Look at it from a logistics standpoint. IF we limit LLL, then we should do the same for Intrada etc. And, for new releases from large companies, for x amoount of time. It would have to be an enforceable rule, as no one agreement will ever happen. Mods will have to check stock status, to enforce the "sell out" rule...lots of extra hassle. I don't see it. Better to just implement a "no flac" rule and be done with it. Or, accept this is a full blown pirate site, and be done with it..:)

It'll never happen. What i want in regards to the label will not matter. This proposal and discussion comes up now and then, and the vast majority of members will happily tell the defense league to stick it. Myself, personally, I am neutral on the subject. Especially as i don't deal with lossless formats for the most part.

My position is:

Post something whichever the format you prefer. If someone wants to download it, fine. If someone doesn't, that's also fine. If someone prefers waiting for a lossless to come up, that's also fine.

I don't deal with lossless, either. But for those interested, I'm sure someone will post a lossless version of this sometime.

If the technology is available, why not use it? Lossless IS the way to go...

What we should praise here is the fact that the scans are also available. Not many are willing to do that "extra" work. Let us not forget how difficult it was to get the F13 boxset scans. The lossless will appear eventually...

I support Lossless so the "end user" can make a better determination whether the Album meets expectations on determining a purchase.
