If there is a Cast/Crew promo CD like there usually is for his Disney compositions, you can expect a good amount of new material there. :)

Thanks a bunch for the share. Finally got to see the film yesterday (overall mixed feelings, as I was a fan of the property, etc., but still had a blast watching, lots of things I loved). Anyways, dying to get my hands on the music, one of Giacchino's best, such fantastic themes (JC's and Dejah's especially), refreshing to hear such a gloriously old-fashioned theme driven adventure score.

Also if that Disney "Cast and Crew" expanded album ever surfaces, I'd Love to get my hands on it, this is definitely a score where I'd love to have a complete release.

This composer has always been lukewarm to me- until this score. He's now created a real grown up, melodic, multiple-themed action/romance/adventure soundtrack. I also happen to have enjoyed the film multiple times. Why the critics ripped it apart and why it bombed is beyond me. It was damn fun.

I agree completely. Watched it for the first time the other night expecting a bad film after the negative reaction it received, only to discover it's a perfectly good film, with humour, great action, just really well made. So much better than a lot of the crap out there that does do well.

Enjoyed this so much.... sorry to say, or happy to say... flac down loads just do not come close to capturing all the sound I discovered when I bought the compact disc. Recommend a purchase if you like this score... and as far as I can tell, ALL the music is here. No need for an extended release.

I don't get it. How can there be a significant difference between the CD and FLAC? Perhaps you are playing the FLAC through different equipment?

I could understand if you complained about the mix not being the same as the film mix, which is normal but FLAC is just that, the full quality of CD.

I listen to music on four foot tall Legacy speakers with multiple woofers and tweeters in front and back... not little ear buds or computer... when I heard the PIPE ORGAN in the John Carter CD score it was a BIG surprise.

Flac downloads of Cloud Atlas proved muted and poorly balanced... except for the upload made by Yannis. He ripped it from his own CD, I believe.

One never knows.....

True, most FLACs are not conscientiously ripped. Still, if anyone can hear the difference between them and a CD, they've got better ears than me.

Ah, well perhaps the posters of those FLACs you don't find to be adequate are ripped with the wrong settings. I guess I should always make my own FLAC rip of something I buy regardless of what I downloaded already.

I totally agree that it was a very good movie, I don't know why people didn't like it(ok, when you say "It's about a guy from the secession war going to Mars"...it looks a bit strange but it has been very well aranged !)
