i have a big problem....i forgot how to get pulse ammo, and i have all of the other stuff to make squalls final weapon:whatever: :notgood: can anyone tell me how to get them...i know you can get them from a monster but i dont know what one so i wont bother with that

It's been a while, but I am pretty sure that pulse ammo needs to be refined from energy crystals or Laser cannons .

Not sure about the latter, but you can get energy crystals from the monster Ellonyle (sp?) in Esthar after the lunar cry. Just speak with that crazy man, and it should appear as much as you want.


You can use the Quistris degenertor trick here as well. it helps.

If you're on Disc 4 and can't get into Esthar, the monster Behemoth has them also. He's on the outskirts of Esthar.

After Lunar cry, yeah, go to Esthar airport, go a few screens to the right until you can go upwards. Go up into the next screen then talk to the guy sitting down. Elnoyle isn't really hard and has good spells to draw. I suggest putting the ability Rare Item on so you'll have more chance of getting Energy Crystals after the fight.

<font color=red face="comic sans ms">Yeah, the Elnoyle's your best bet. It does have a lot of HP though, so you may decide you want to junction 100 Deaths to ST-Atk for some pretty quick kills. ;) Doesn't work 100% of the time, but it still has a pretty high success rate.

1 Energy Crystal refines into 10 Pulse Ammo using Ammo-RF, and you get 2-3 Energy Crystals from every Elnoyle you beat at L40+, provided that you don't mug from it. Mugging will get you Moon Stones instead.

You can only get a Laser Cannon in the Laguna Flashback's, you have to mug them from Elastoids... I believe the Laser Cannon can also teach Quistis a Blue Magic ability...

<font color=red face="comic sans ms">Actually you always get Laser Cannons from Mobile Type 8, and there's a rare chance taht Balhelmels will drop them after battle too. But that'svery rare. :p

There is a more simple way. Refine one of your cards for energy crystals then refine them if you wish. That's the quickest way I know to get pulse ammo.

The trick is to play cards alot on disc one.

im having alot of trouble encountering anything around esthar that gives me the damn energy crystals. i know what the behemoth is you encounter it inside the Lunatic Pandora.

Can anyone remember a specific SPECIFIC area where i would be most likely to encounter a creature carrying the energy crystals on disc 4?

Hey, hey, hey, be nice. You did say you were on Disc 4 and I totally missed it. I'm sorry. If I remember correctly, Ruby Dragons on the Island Closest to Hell give Energy Crystals. I believe there might be one or two others there that drop them too, so try fighting there.

Cool. P.S.: on a final note, don't get discouraged if they drop other items at first because the Energy Crystals are rare drops. I think having Rare Item party ability equipped should help. Also, make sure not to mug, or you won't get the drop.

I got some pulse ammo on disc 2, but I only found this out on my recent fifth replay of FF8, so for future reference,

In the bit when you play as Irvine and he's choosing who should play which instrument for the garden festival on the stage in FH, leave to the left and go into FH.

Go into the Grease Monkey's house in the North of FH. There will be a Galbadian soldier there and after talking to him he tells Irvine to step outside for a fight.

When you go outside he doesn't follow but if you go back in again (you might have to walk around a bit first) he's lying on the floor near the door. If you talk to him he says "Ugh..." or something, but then talk to him again and you get pulse ammo and 2 other kinds (can't remember which) and it's either 6 or 8 pulse ammo I think.

I think u should try to get LuvLuvG's they increase ur capability with GF's by 20(in case i'm wrong kick my ass)you get 100 from chubbychocbo card
