i was wondering if it is still going to be 12 dollars a month to play it, and 1 dollar a month for every character you have, or did they alter the prices of the costs again??:p

It is 12.95 a month, plus 1 dollar a month for Tetra Master Card game if you want, plus 1 dollar a month per extra character.

Actually, each extra character is only ten cents a month, except for the first character, which costs 1.29 a month

Khyros, where are you getting your information? On Playonline.com it confirms the prices I said earlier. http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/shop/ Of course it could be wrong and I hope it is, because if the prices you say are true then I definately want some more characters.

I found out that Khyros is correct about this subject, The prices are much lower than it shows on the playonline site. I have purchased 4 more characters now.

I still don't see why anyone needs more than one character. :O

I agree with that to some extent. There really is enough to do in the game for just one character, but after a while you get sick of fighting monsters in the same style over and over again. A warrior always provokes, then attacks til he can build up TP to do a weapon skill, then performs the skill and repeats, throwing in a job ability now and again. This gets really boring after a while, and it is pretty much the same with all the other classes, they all fight in their own certain style. If you have more than one character though, you can switch styles, plus you can have them in different locations and benifit from buying things at different places and saving gil. Also it allows you to see more of Vana'diel than having just one character.

You don't need a different character altogether in order to "switch styles". Believe it or not, it is a fact that a Galka mage or melee Taru can be extremely effective at low or high levels. But I suppose if additional characters really are 10 cents extra, I guess it doesn't hurt that much.

The main reason I see for multiple characters is mutliple people playing on the same account. Hell, I let my little brother play now and then, but there's no way in hell he's touching my character, so he gets his own.

got 1 more question you see me and my m8 both have a copy of FFXI but my m8s mother dont have a master or a via card and my father has 1 and i was wondering if it is possible that we can pay both accounts with same card?i mean if we pay 1 account will the card number be invalid when we try paying my m8s account?

Nah, I'm pretty sure you can charge them both to the same card, it's the registration numbers that really matter, after all.
