i have been lately been hearing rumors about a FFT2. can anyone confirm these rumors? i hope there will be one, iam a huge FFT fan. thanks if you can help.

Hehe. The word is that they were orginaly going to make Final Fanatasy Tactics 2, but it was scraped for the PSX. Then they were going to make for the PS-2. But that was all so scraped. Along time ago we at the Shrine petition the making of FFT-2. And I never heard from it. Still, Final Fanatasy Tactis 2 is a great idea, espacily for the PS-2.

well ive heard nothing since some short rumors... though i really wish that they would make final fantasy tactics II i would definately join a petition and get some ppl to join as well ^_-

To tell you the truth, petitions get you nothing but rushed projects just to shut everyone up. I mean, look at what all the petitions to bring chrono trigger for psx to the us got us? It was such a rushed project, they left the soft reset the same as the snes. (Use only L1 and R1, start select.) Granted, it was rushed, but it was still a triumphant moment. What im trying to say is that if there gonna make FFT2, let them make it on there own terms. if they start to get bombed with petitions. sure, they will make it, but they might rush it so bad that it comes to the US all screwed up. I would rather play a well thought out, awesome sequel ten years from now, than a rushed, buggy, badly translated, "I wish I had spent my 50 bucks on candy" sequel next year. You know?

FFT2 would be beyond kick ass belief. Right on Dues Immortal!

Not always, most of the time, Game Developers try to make games especially sequels great for the Fans, just that they get rushed by the higher ups, in order to quickly gain a profit.

FFT2 isn't gonna happen. Well, atleast not anytime soon. Like Jackel said before, the project has been scraped many times before.

To be honest, I don't really want a sequel. I'd never want them to wreck the FFT name, like they did with the Chrono series.

Well, there is always a possibility that the game will have new ground-breaking ideas that add to great gameplay and it will not ruin the game, take the Suikoden series, that was great, and the Lufia series, that too was great! just a little poing I would like to make, they could also clear up many unanswered questions left at the end of the game.

When hell freezes over but who knows there's a possibility abet a slim one.

Final Fantasy Tactics 2 would be a great game, it should be for the Playstation 2 and be a prelude to Final Fantasy Tactics for the PSX.

It would be a great idea to have a FFTII, but i agree with garret, i'de rather have a good FFTII than a messed up one. But a petition might be the only way to get FFTII. They're so focused on continueing the series that they may not even think of making FFTII. They already have an FFIX on the way, they're going to fast to think about anything else. A petition may be the only way to put the idea in their heads.

I agree, the people at square should try to continue some of the other series they are making, and good quality sequels too! I mean tactics has so much potential for a sequel it's almost a shame to let it fade away into the past.

...'cause the only way you can expect an FFT2 any time soon is if you write it yo' self.

I'd like to see one too, but I've never heard anything beyond rumor. People like it that much, but the primary series always gets the primary focus. Frankly, right now, they're trying to get an FF a year, so they can't exactly devote many resources to their spin-offs right now.

all we could do is wait and see i hope they do a good job also i know they will.
FFT has to be one of the greatest games around

I really hope it will happen, but I don't know if it really will. Maybe another petition wouldn't be such a bad idea. Some people said that would lead to a rushed crappy game, but if they aren't even considering making one, we would at least be letting them know that they do have a fan base so it make encourage them to make if they know it will do well.

Square scrapped it after it being nearly 75% complete. this happened around the time FF8 was released. Haven't heard anything regarding a PS2 version yet.

That would be great if they made a FFT2 for PS2, because i just started playing FFT and i think its great.........are there any other games like FFTactics.

That would be really cool, but as we have seen before, information like that is not very reliable, and is subject to change on such a short notice. I personally am not going to get my hopes up for something that has a very low likelyhood of ever happening.
