Some of the finest film music written for historical dramas (Shakespeare & WWII!) in authoritative recordings
made by the composer, William Walton. It includes both the concert suite from Henry V and a more detailed "scenario"
interspersed with the Shakespeare monologues recited by Olivier himself. The booklet is included.
The Shakespeare scenario is in mono, the rest in stereo.

Again, people who think that Hans Zimmer is a great film composer and that Gladiator marks a peak
of scoring historical movies need not bother with this release. ;)

Conducted by the Knight of the Realm himself, I see. I only knew about the Gielgud narrated collection on the Chandos label. So You've got my thanks, a like for the thread, and reputation points for this one

Hmmm, the Walton has been downloaded 49 times. The math doesn't quite work out. Will ponder whether this is a deal-breaker.

I still wonder, given the number of thanks here, how the item has been downloaded no less than 62 times now from RS.

Thank you very much for that wonderful Walton's music. I wonder if the recordings of his work performed by Neville Marriner and the Academy of Saint Martin in the Fields are also available in this wonderful forum... ;-)
