Neither the DVD or Blu-ray releases had an isolated music score track. This is the complete*, unedited score. I say unedited because the original album was made up of suites that combined a lot of cues, and the music here is in its originally recorded form as written.

Another telltale sign that this is the full score is the fact that the music in the film was edited down for timing, just like most (all) scores you hear in their films. The music here doesn't contain those edits.

There is an asterisk * I added to complete, and here's why:

The cue "Flight of the Griffin" is different in the film. At 3:55 into the cue, the film version contains some very strong pounding snare drums, which are not heard on either the regular album or this leaked version. 'Ripping' this film-only version is pointless because the scene the music plays through is very heavy with sound effects.

The opening cue "Writing The Chronicles" is different because there is a soft synthesized choir that is missing from the leaked version but heard on the album version of the cue. Otherwise it's exactly the same.


One more thing, regarding "Patriot Games":

The 'Closing Credits' is slightly different on the album version versus the complete score.

The difference is in the vocal performance: The album version features only Gaelic lyrics, while the complete (and film) version features some of the lyrics sung in English.

Very minor difference, but a difference nonetheless.

I'll probably put up a FLAC version of my customized complete "Glory".

What I did was I took the high-resolution version of the original album (it was a 24/96 source) and used it for the regular album cues, though I did overlay some percussion from the isolated score into two cues (Forming the Regiment and The Year of Jubilee). The first two cues (A Call to Arms and After Antietam) are the album versions but with some of the isolated score edited into their openings. The remaining cues from the isolated score I edited and remixed myself, to eliminate some of the volume changes and make it more in tune with the album cues. No PAL speed-up / wrong musical pitch either, and I didn't use any pitch-correction effects to do it so it's a flawless preservation of the original musical pitch. The isolated score was a Dolby 4.0 track (Left, Center, Right, rear Surround) so remixing it to a proper 2-channel presentation was necessary anyway. As I said in the 'film score hunt' thread where I put my mp3 version, I didn't include any source music outside of the big parade music since that blended so perfectly into the score for that scene in the film.

I download 1 GB+ files from it now, and I use an addon for Firefox called "SkipScreen", but I think the best thing to do regardless of your browser of choice, is to just wait until night time to download. Even with that SkipScreen I get wait times during the day, but none at night, and it goes full speed at night as well.

I get varying RS wait times. None at all, a few seconds, and sometimes it has been as much as 6 min. But I stil get good speed, both up and down. Sorei suggested their upload helper, and it REALLY makes things easy to do.

I just tested it on CBS News (Thanks, Benuit) and I reached a speed of 118Kbps through 3G Broadband. One thing, though, Windows downloader bypassed my version of FDM as it wouldn't load, so I downloaded the old fashioned way....

They send blank data between valid data to slow the rate down. Your browser probably doesn't handle it well.

Use Jdownloader, that works with RS.

It is normal for the person uploading something to decide which host to use.

I know that RS capped their DL speeds. That isn't the real issue, it keeps freezing, lagging, etc. Nothing is getting downloaded. Even with JDownloader. I download from over 10 different places. RS is my only issue. I know the problem is not me or my computer.

So I can't get that download unless someone re-uploads it, please.

I'll put up my version of Bicentennial Man, which like my version of Glory, is superior to the isolated score-direct port that is circulated all over the internet.

It's shit, with its haphazard film edits, drastic volume variances and of course the PAL speed-up issue.

Mine fixed a lot of those issues but is by no means perfect because the music was at such a low volume that there's a LOT of 'hiss' especially during sections that were lowered in volume for the film.

I don't have a lossless version on my computer (which is why I haven't put up Glory in FLAC or anything yet, and don't expect those any time soon because I've got my file discs away...personal turmoil going on here) but it's from the lossy Dolby 5.1 track of the UK DVD anyway.

I'll put it up tonight.

Let's just say this score has always struck a very powerful emotional chord with me since I first heard it when it came out in 1999, and a few weeks ago I was playing it one afternoon, looked out the window at the gorgeous clear sky and the music just hit me harder than I ever thought music was capable of hitting at all. It was just devastating.

Just to show it can be downloaded, I've just finished downloading it from RS using Jdownloader. It took me just under 2 hours.

And, that's fine, but if you have a spotty connection, and it resets, then you lose the download. It is not a problem for me, probably would not take 2 hours either. But I am trying to be aware that others might have issues. I also try to ask now and then if a host is preferred. In this case, it is no big, as Mediafire is among my chosen mirrors automatically.

There is no ewxpansion for Cleaqr and Present, except for perhaps dvd rips.

I agree, Clear and Present Danger has a great Score - Not as good as Patriot Games, but it should have a Expanded Score like it's older brother :) lol
