Thanks micobear ! Could you please upload it to a different sharing site. If possible mediafire or ifileit. There is no way to make rapidshare workable due to restrictions on my internet provider. Thanks again.

Wow. This was so fast. Thanks to your passion. It is really a great opportunity to listen to more of Hirano's music. He never fails to impress with his classical taste, especially with slow-motion sad tracks. Whenever he uses the cello all ears must listen :)

Thank you for posting, micobear!

You know, I think I'm mellowing to this score. It didn't captivate me hearing it in the show - indeed I have described it as "lobotomised" Hirano. And it's true, this is NOT the Yoshihisa Hirano we've come to know; this is simplified, smoothed out, friendly, and chirpy. But, it's not a bad score. It's just a very, very different score - both in terms of what we expected from Hirano and what people expected for HUNTERxHUNTER. Most of it exists in the more-or-less "safe" world of late classical, early romantic - whereas Hirano's music is usually in every era of music all at once, crashing Bach into Schoenberg into Haydn into Wagner and watching the sparks fly. But, there's something very pure about this music.

Track 7, for example; so simple, so beautiful, and perhaps owing a little to the slow section of Rossini's William Tell overture.

Or track 18 - probably my favourite. Hirano has managed to strip out all the complexity of his style, all the modernism, all the genre-hopping... and has lost absolutely nothing of his measured dramatic sense. It's so simple, but it's not. It's just right.

Or track 20, even... gorgeous percussion work, a straight and simple performance of the main theme on piccolo, with warm strings as accompaniment.

If I were to make one complaint about the whole... I think the theme perhaps outstays its welcome a little. This is almost a monothematic score. It's a nice theme, but after the thirtieth cheerful variation I really start pining for some of the Death Note Hirano.

To his credit, he manages to sneak in a little bit of his natural style in track 26; but here it sounds a little uneasy. You can almost hear the forced restraint in the final crescendo; instead of the heaving crash of brassy chaos you can just tell he was itching to write, we get some percussion, a slightly dissonant trumpet, and a little woodwind flurry to finish off.

But, all that said - there is still so much to enjoy here. Hirano is not an easy guy for average Joe to appreciate; I can only imagine what would have happened if he'd gone full out on a kids show. He's made a pronounced stylistic shift in order to respect the target demographic and has done so without compromising the quality of his work. This is no mean feat.

In fact, I would like to disagree a bit. As a dedicated Hirano Listener. I was simultaneously able to hear the fingers of him writing these wonderful music sheets. And once again producing a spectacular score that did not diverge form the old great pieces of his previous work. By the way, as far as you know, is there any live performance for Hirano performed in Japan or else where ? I would really like to be involved if I am able to. I would strongly recommend listening to the soft side of Hirano's work which was obvious in his score that was made for Hanada Shounen Shi OST. Moreover, his ability to master both sides of the music equation, which is soft and non-soft stimulator, is so amazing. My favorite tracks in this OST are certainly 3 and 33.

I never said it didn't sound like Hirano; I said that he had clearly modified and moderated a number of his stylistic tendencies and that the result was a score that occupies a different "place" than most of his previous works. That much is clear to anybody.

Natural Hirano; and by that, I mean the style that he seems to use most frequently and which flows from his pen most effortlessly, is high complex, classically-structured writing with a fluid approach to harmony (polytonality, chromaticism, outright atonalism, etc,) a tendency towards baroque elegance, and a very unique , individual, and well honed orchestral technique. (His place as one of history's finest orchestrators is assured.)

This score, whilst at the heart undoubtedly Hirano, tames some of these characteristics.

Hey !
I'm looking (actually, i've been doing this for quite a while) for these 2 scores in FLAC :
- Hunter X Hunter ost 3 (from the 2011 series)
- Hunter X Hunter Phantom Rouge
The best i could find was 320kbps (and I looked almost everywhere). If anyone could help me with this, he/she would be my god/dess !
Thank you !
