Just wondering if I should get it? I reserved a Limited Edition type, but want to hear some recommendations if I should or not have done that.

Lol that figures. I saw some topics here but still never got the hang of why it's fail compared to many others exactly. I only have 5, 7, 8, 10, tactics, Dissidia, CD2, 7-CC, and 12.

Mostly what kinda did throw me off though was when I heard a lot of issues about the nasty bosses (in terms of brutality) as even in 10 there were still some brutes I could never kill even though things on the board are almost maxed (can't find any lvl 4 spheres anymore though so can't finish, also lost on those weapons too) and especially how someone mentioned that Cid's no easy-goer here compared to 12 already blasting me with a massive plasma cannon.

Am I missing out something else that it's actually a severe fail of the series? Also any personal reasons why you also say no btw?

A lot of times in these games, particularly the recent ones you need the proper strategy to beat bosses.Pure power/strength alone isn't enough.

I beat Cid in FFXII and in FFXIII.
In FFXII my problem was with Zodiark and the other last espers.Beating them.

In FFXIII my problem was with Orphan.
I never got to complete all the quests as I didn't get to beat Orphan so my crystalarium could get upgraded.
shrugs.

I will buy the game aka FFXIII-2 eventually.Maybe even wait for a used copy at a second hand store..or even get one at a pawn shop where the price will be lower.

Is it worth getting.Probably if you're an FF fan.Sure I believe like most fans that the series has gone downhill since FFX but I still feel a compulsion to buy the games and keep current with the series although I feel it lacks something.

I'm hearing weird crap about the plot (it's a standard "you have to really look into it" FF plot that FF13 adopted) but the gameplay apparently fixes a lot of things wrong with ffxiii. Try out the demo first...

Here is my current update on FFXIII=2 from the demo point of view:

You can walk around and talk to people
You can move around while people talk to each other.
You gain gil from fights,which is a huge improvement over the last time.
you can gain monsters that join your team with specific abilities,such as:Ravager monster,or healer monster.
You and your pets can level up your crystagen,so they don-t become obsolete.
You can upgrade your weapon by talking to a choco lady.

I guess it sort of reminds me of the ff8 upgrade weapon formula now.

I hope you like quick time events,cause quick time events can ruin your rating,and even get you killed if you dont time it perfectly.

Sounds actually worth it, but as a few of you said:

So because of that, I missed my chance (barely had enough for SC5 while at it). Next time I'll make sure I get it though. I'm sure some other pest walked off laughing with my limited edition by now since it was too expensive. Sucks to be me.

My thoughts are:It did improve upon the idea of exploration,and the dialogue so far seems less annoying with that moron snow and whiny baby hope.
i also was slightly more interested,because the game talks about after the disappearance of the fal cie.

Being able to jump is a plus,and being able to give your characters stats is also a plus.You actually have levels rather than have to beat the game first to unlock more powers.
The pet thing is nothing new,and in fact:It was the idea from lufia 2.Thats right:The pet idea was in lufia 2,which came out way before FFXIII-2.The minor difference,is that you can fuse them together to make them stronger.

I have mixed feelings about this game:

On one side:I welcome the new changes.

I was very happy that armor buying came back,and that you could talk to people and level up.

On the downside:I-m not a huge fan of quick time events.
I also noted that you still use the same system of FFXIII.

Ideas for final fantasy:Why not make every spell level up instead of just having a bunch of spells you never use?
If you were to have a bunch of spells that evolve as you level up,or even put points into them.The idea would then decide if to use or not to use them.
Having a bunch of spells and your character auto use level 3 fire,while it makes sense,it makes sense also to just make spells that evolve.With this idea,you would have a reason to use the spells.

From playing it myself, Final Fantasy XIII-2 made a lot of improvements. It's worth playing. If you play it without stopping too long, you might be able to finish it in a rental. Then, you can buy it when it's cheaper and play the rest of the story which will be released through DLC along with a crapton more content.

He cries too much for his own good,and he isn-t even a well developed or interesting character to be made bearable.If he whined a lot but was interesting,then you feel something for him.If you have very little backstory and he whines a lot,you end up growing to hate him.There is nothing more really to say,and even darth revan hates FFXIII,and i don-t see you giving him shit.

Sure, hope whined, but that's perfectly normal for what happened to him. In fact, it's actually pretty realistic reaction considering how everything changed.

I don-t see why i can-t debate about a game,when the game has a lot to do with this section of the forum and i also talked about snow and the gameplay.
That would be like saying:You can-t talk about only about the characters of ff6,no you have to mention everything in the game forums.My answer would be:Why? if it has to do with the game,then it effects the overall game itself.
And:Sure Hope was angry at him for getting his sister caught and turned into a crystal,but Even so:He sure cries a lot about it and his insecurity.

I'm not a fanboy of Hope. I'm sympathetic as I can be to a main character to the game- but Hope and Tidus both had reasons to "whine" and Tidus at least had a lot of balls and backbone on top of all of that considering the situation he's been thrust in. Hope is 14 and fucking traumatized; what do you even expect? His world's flipped completely upside down.

Given the circumstances, I don't think you could go from being a normal teenager with some first world problems to being on the run constantly because the rest of the world hates you, fears you, and wants you dead very easily. I don't see how "being in another country" equates to "being hunted down by everyone in the world and seeing your mom die" in magnitude in the slightest. And he's 14! What backstory is there!

I gotta go to work now, some of the reviews are stupid. I don't care that someone doesn't like the game, but being wrong about things and using that as a reason to dislike a game is what I feel is stupid.

Because the person asked if FFXIII-2 is worth playing and it this point, it's like you're basing everything soley on snow and Hope... Who you only see for like 10 minutes of the game.

I-m not basing on only those 2 characters,i am merely pointing out that its stupid how hope goes after snow and whines about himself being weak all the time,when it isn-t 100 percent snows fault that hope-s mom dies.Mercenary raven is just making up an excuse for hope and accepting it,than actually looking at it.

I can slightly understand snows personality from reading about it.He is rather arrogant,and he shows it a lot.His arrogance also leads to him making rash decisions.He also allowed his emotions to get him caught by the team of le cie who were lead by pulse soldiers.Lucky for him that Fang was actually conspiring to go against the pulse soldiers,or he would be screwed.I also read up about vanille.Vanille did go through a lot.She was involved in the destruction of her hometown.Fang became ragnarok and destroyed the town.Vanille refused to accept her fate and in turn got dajh turned into a le cie.

I remember that vanille did keep secrets,but i can also understand keeping them secret for some time.

I was just wondering, but now as I figured when I asked around if there still was any limited edition left, my luck hit the rock bottom, so I just dropped it and won't even bother with something that'll have things taken out of it. I took my placed money back for something else instead since I've been cheated out of things on it.

I didn't mean to make a topic in which will cause others to get angry at one another. For the record, it was still nice to hear things about it. This topic has served its purpose and can be closed since I can't get the game now. Finding a non-limited edition is no different than a patched-up demo, so in my decision I can't go for something like that. Still thanks for the motivation, was a good insight about it. Also please try not to rage at one another.
