Requested for a friend. :)
Mp3 in 128kbps. One of my first soundtracks I ever acquired from the internet in 2002. Miss those days of hard work looking for anime soundtracks. :)
I may update it for another mp3 version. But for the moment, this serves its purpose. ^^

A very orchestrated and enjoyable soundtrack. One of my Top favorites. Enjoy you too guys and girls. :)

Holy crap, are they serious? Is that an official release? Surely it has to be a bootleg...

They misspell the names of the two main characters ("Touichi" and "Beldandy" - actually Keiichi and Belldandy), the name of the composer (Shiro "Hamada") and the name of the conductor (Mario "Clemense")... that's pretty good going. Shows how much respect they had for this release.

Nonetheless, it's a really brilliant score - how anybody can listen to cues like "Ventus" and not recognise that Hamaguchi is being woefully underused, I will never know. He's got melodic flair, can orchestrate the pants off of pretty much anybody - maybe even Yoshihisa Hirano (comparing the two stylistically is of course pointless, but from a quality perspective...?) and can write something that sounds filmic and classical both at the same time...

...And he doesn't plagiarise every note from either himself or every classical composer who ever lived. The guy needs more work, and I don't mean for Jewelpet Sodding Tinkle. So far he's spent his career alternating between applying gloss to Uematsu, playing second fiddle to Kohei Tanaka, making outstanding arrangements of crap music (Haruhi...) and scoring atrocious children's shows that should come with a diabetic health warning... with most original scores of recent years being performed under strangulating budgetary constraints.

Imagine, for a moment, if Hamaguchi had got, say, Gargantia. Or even Tempest, or Majestic Prince - and I love both those scores... but think what Hamaguchi could do with that sort of show and that sort of budget. Same with other scarily underused geniuses like Tomoyuki Asakawa (great harpist, superlative composer), Tada Akifumi, and Masamichi Amano - three guys who never get the big gigs (or, in Asakawa's case, any gigs in over a decade) despite being more skilled than most of the current crop of "go-to composers" put together.

Instead, we get Hamaguchi on "Problem Children Are Coming From Another World, Aren't They?" and three series' of Jewelpet, Akifumi doing donkey work for Shinji Miyazaki on Pokemon and scoring Crayon Shin-chan movies, and Asakawa playing harp on crap scores by Sawano... and Taro Iwashiro on Gargantia, Sawano on Almost Everything, Tatsuya Kato on Everything Else, and Masamichi Amano orchestrating for Shiro Sagisu!

When Japan get it wrong, they get it REALLY wrong... but they get it right a lot of the time, so I suppose I shouldn't complain... but please, Japan, if you're listening - next year, big Warsaw or Moscow scores for Akifumi, Hamaguchi, Amano, and Asakawa please, ideally for 50 episode shows with 2-CD score releases... and if you've got any money left, I'd appreciate the same for Kousuke Yamashita (vastly overdue a big prestige overseas score), Souhei Kano (PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE), Hirano (lots of good scores recently but please give him something meaty to work on and a decent budget, and stop asking him to do this cheap rock-Schoenberg hybrid crap), Sahashi (LSO please, big sci-fi series if you don't mind), Yasuo Higuchi (PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE), Hiroshi Takaki (Tytania was four years ago, guys... Bakumatsu Roman was cheap crap, and he's a thousand times better than Pretty Cure, for God's sake), Hitoshi Sakimoto (not Eminence, please - a real orchestra), Hayato Matsuo (a genius you're currently wasting on The World God Only Knows), Kan Sawada (sci-fi show, please), Kohei Tanaka, and Koichi Sugiyama (he's still alive... and I'm sure he'd like to write something other than Variations On Dragon Quest to break the monotony of the last twenty years)... and if there's any cash left at the end of that one for Kanno please - spare no expense, two hours of orchestral score, chorus as well please.

There you go, that's my 2014 sorted... ;)

That is one hopeful list. :) If I have to choose one, it would be Asakawa without a doubt. Just the thought of him working with Warsaw gives me wet dreams.
