Or, like my last [unfulfilled] request, the recording sessions. When little to no information is presented for these kinds of scores, I don't really know what to be asking for. Unlike my other requests, I do not have as much information to go off of on this one. In the past, I did a DVD rip edit of it, and while it's decent, it is incomplete and the editing is even inaccurate at times (not true to the movie). I also do not know what unreleased bits of music might be able for this excellent work by Thomas Newman.

Another member on here, zeeky_5678, is working on his own edit of the score which is much more expansive than mine, but he's said he would also be thrilled to get a true complete score to this film despite all his hard work becoming obsolete. (parker1's "edit" of the score, which was labeled "complete" only has part of the end credits added at the end of the OST, so his doesn't count.) There really aren't too many cues missing; most largely what's absent is the film version of "Unpleasant Incident Involving a Train" and while it is made up of several other tracks that were on the OST, I'm not sure that it can be accurately 100% recreated given the available material.

It's hard for people to deny the existence of a complete score based on these posts made by 724921:
Post #6 (http://forums.ffshrine.org/f92/new-2011-version-lemony-snickets-series-unfortunate-92789/#post1738981)
Post #8 (http://forums.ffshrine.org/f92/new-2011-version-lemony-snickets-series-unfortunate-92789/#post1738993)

I have also personally talked to a member here who says he has the 2CD complete score "that everyone else has" until I informed him that likely what he'd been seeing on here was just my edit. Nevertheless, he believes he's got the real deal but he wasn't ever able to find it on his hard drives (or he just wasn't interested in helping out a simple collector like myself).

As usual, any more help people can provide on this truly unique score will be greatly appreciated!

have you looked for a web-site by Newman, and/or samples?

Hmm. I don't see a composer's site for him offhand.

Has 7 been around the forum lately??

7 went AWOL / MIA / Incognito / whatever you wanna call it. He ain't been here since November, I think. I checked his activity the other day and I'm pretty sure his last visit was sometime around 2 months ago.

btw Babydoll, I like your new pic. It's a good shot of you.

There is only a fan site dedicated to Thomas Newman and I think he is a far more prominent composer than all those lackeys who work for Hans Zimmer. It seems to me that only the smaller scale composers have samples of their works on their sites. No, I've heard from the same guy who thinks he has this but can't find it that it's the sort of music that just isn't supposed to get out here...Which is weird, considering that's almost the opposite of what 7's posts were implying.

And Dak is right: 7 hasn't been on here since the end of November. I've even got ways outside of the Shrine to contact him and he won't respond.

I can vouch for this. I've contacted him, but he must be on to bigger and better things

bump, although I don't ever expect to get any results from this--especially considering the current state of our, er, community....industry, no....economy? With the things and the shutting down and the screen grab of PotC3 that Sparktank keeps using....

I'm surprised zeeky, himself, hasn't been by here yet to reinforce the request. He must be one of those people who doesn't check this site religiously...which is okay. I feel a change coming along.....

Likely, no one has it. I can't help you with those types of things, very limited info, sorry. I did see the post, I just saw no reason to respond..?

I am not going anywhere. I am sharing more than ever, albeit more or less on private sites, or behind the scenes. I am re-upping anything I can as it is requested. Most of us are, we are just quiet about it....

I do not consider two statements from one person, who has yet to post it, to be anything more than a rumor. If that is all you wanna hang your hat on, your call, of course.

Eh...while I'm at it, I may as well bump this one too--only given what information has been gathered by myself and a couple other members here, I am beginning to feel that the real, truly complete score for this film does not actually exist. Things point to the fact that the "complete score" that 724921 and a couple other people think they know about and/or have may, in fact, just be parker1's rip. Which makes me absolutely furious. Because it isn't a rip. It's the OST with very obviously not a single film edit, pointlessly divided into two CDs, and has the end credits--likely recorded in-line from the DVD--for "completeness".

Hey Dimensioner! Did you get my PM about my new updated version of Snicket i've completed? I took into account everything you and other members have said, and I think it's a pretty solid release.

The Dimensioner

Yes, I did. And as a response to it, I'd meant to share with you my most recent edit on "An Unpleasant Incident Involving A Train," specifically that 11-second insert early on. Remember when I was telling you about how I found a way to sort of delete SFX out of DVD audio? I'm pretty happy with my edit of track up until the point that the extended version of that bit from "Attack of the Hook-Handed Man" starts or at 2:33 into your edit of the Train track (2:33, of course, in the version that you sent out a while back).

Also, in your PM, it felt like to me since you're running out of time to complete your projects, you might get in a hurry and your work could come out sloppy--for the sole purpose that you don't want your fans/followers to be waiting on you indefinitely. I'm sure that someone like you wouldn't ever let that happen anyway, but just think: you should be doing your edits for yourself not us. Take your time, and if it takes several years to complete your works, then so be it. I'd been working on my Pirates 3 edit for over a year before I shared it here.

XD No worry about the taking time thing, i've been working on the new version of Snicket since...well since the pointers you gave me about the first version. So it's been a good....5 months? Maybe? And the rest of the projects are mostly done, but just need some last minute touching up :D I'd love to hear your new version of "An Unpleasant Incident Involving A Train" though!

Shameless bump. I'm about to count myself out of hope for these sessions. I mean it IS Sony who is holding onto these. XP For everyone else, here is all the info I could gather on the cue listings:

LOVERLY SPRING (LOVERLY SPRING THE BAD BEGINNING (PART 1))
BAD BEGINNING PART 2
BAUDELAIRE ORPHANS
JUSTICE STRAUSS
CHEZ OLAF
IN LOCO PARENTIS
CHORES
PUTTANESCA
RESILIENCE
UNPLEASANT INCIDENT INVOLVING A TRAIN
TRAIN TAG
LOVERLY SPRING REPRISE 1
TAKE THEM MR POE
REPTILE ROOM
SANCTUARY
MEET STEPHANO
SNAKY MESSAGE
CURIOUS FEELING OF FALLING
REGARDING THE INCREDIBLY DEADLY VIPER
LOVERLY SPRING ELF REPRISE 2
LACHRYMOSE FERRY
CONCERNING AUNT JOSEPHINE
VFD
WIDE WINDOW
IKE S ROOM
CAPTAIN SHAM
WHITE FACE WOMEN
COLD AS IKE
HURRICANE HERMAN (4M8)
CURDLED CAVE
REGRETTABLE EPISODE OF THE LEECHES
INTERLUDE WITH SAILBOAT
JO S DEMISE
OUR NEW PLAY
MARVELOUS MARRIAGE
VERISIMILITUDE (5M4)
OLAF SCHEME PT 2
WHAT WOULD VIOLET DO
WOEFUL WEDDING
ATTACK OF THE HOOK HANDED MAN
TAKEN BY SURPREEZE PART 1
ONE LAST LOOK
LETTER THAT NEVER CAME
DRIVE AWAY END TITLE
LOVERLY SPRING

The two slate numbers are confirmed from articles written by folks who visited the sessions one day. Cue 4m8 was described as appearing during a sequence on a teetering house, and Newman instructed the performers to play it more "woozy", and then they moved onto 5m4 which is described as Olaf's theme and obviously AFTER Hurricane Herman, would put it as Verisimilitude. So yeah, other than the two confirmed slate numbers, and the cue list from the BMI, I have no idea of any other information regarding recording sessions. Also, that rumored 2 CD that everyone else has, may in fact just be Parker1's rip which is nowhere near complete. I found a listed 2 CD on a soundtrack collector site and asked for the track-listing, which matched with Parker1's. Very disappointing. So yup, not too sure if we'll ever see these Recording Sessions surface, or even a complete score. Considering the label it's under (SONY) and they're also the ones holding onto the Titanic Recording Sessions, I doubt we'll get anything more from these. But that's just my two cents.

EDIT: I'd also like to update this post while I'm here and say those cue titles above are indeed ACURATE. I was scowering the Special Edition DVD the other day and got to a featurette about Sound Mixing and listening very closely I heard them say sonething like "We also have to music cues to add in today..." and the Director said "Take Them Mr. Poe", but I couldn't make out the other one. So these are indeed the ACTUAL titles. So, if a complete score or sessions DOES surface it should have these titles, and the two confirmed slate numbers or it's most likely fake. Unless it pulls a Serenity. (Where it went through so many different people before getting posted that they made their own track names, or it didn't have any and they just made some up)
