This thread will be dedicated to radio broadcasts from the 1930's up to present time.
Yes there are still new radio broadcasts produced although it's down to just a trickle from the Golden Era of Radio (1930-1962).
With the mass introduction to television in the 1950's radio shows began to die out and it wasn't until 1974 that long time creator and producer Himan Brown, (Dick Tracy,Flash Gordon,Inner Sanctum among others) revived the old radio dramas with the exceptional CBS Radio Mystery Theater did the public become reacquainted with this medium.
The CBS Radio Mystery Theater ran on local CBS affiliates across the United States from 1974-1982 with a total of 1,399 episodes broadcast over that time.
My first show I will be posting is the first CBS Radio Mystery Theater from January 6,1974 "The Old Ones Are Hard To Kill" starring Agnes Moorehead in one of her last appearances in any medium.
There were so many great shows broadcast over the years from comedy to suspense to adventure and all points in between with various genres.
It will be my attempt to cover them all within this thread, I am open to requests and suggestions and active participants are encouraged to contribute as well if the would like.
So close your eyes, find a comfy chair, shut out the outside world for a moment, and be transported to another time and place.
