One of the neat things about Final Fantasy IX was that there were actually two airships which you could fly around the World Map. But which was the better of the two? I've posted a poll up above where you can weigh in your opinion on that, with the advantages of each one, as well as the option to vote for the flying gold chocobo. Feel free to post your own thoughts on the advantages or disadvantages of each airship as well. Personally, I like the Hilda Garde III best, for the reasons mentioned in the poll, but the chocobo comes in a close second because it's really fun to fly it.

Hilde Garde's song is too happy. I like the Invincible better. The Gold Chocobo is too slow.

Hilda Garde III - a proper airship! Classic design, beautiful theme, and lots of fun.
No shiny big balloon can beat the Hilda Garde.

The Hilda Gard III theme was probably the best airship theme of all the Final Fantasy's. That alone gets my vote.

My Vote is with the Invicible...all the way!!!
It just seems like you can do anything in it and I like being able to do whatever the hell I want, lemme tell ya....LOL
Anyways, the Hilda Garde was awesome too, dunno why it feels better in the Invincible...
And hands down chocobos are indeed the most fun! If you don't get sick of the music after a few hours anyways...:D

<font color=red face="comic sans ms">The Hilda Garde 3's music really annoyed me after a while. It was a pretty slow airship, it couldn't land on anything other than grass... I really didn't like it much at all.

The Invincible however was so much faster, could land on anything, and the disc 4 world map music was actually pretty good IMO. Also, the idea of being able to fly an airship that should be used against you was a nice one.

I entirely agree. I love the classic look, FFIX was not a very "futuristic" FF, which made the Invicible look awkward compared to the rest of the game, and I didn't really like that =/

The Invincible reminded me of Sauron's eye... I did a quote of that screenshot somewhere in the FFIX Caption Thread that I should've stickied.

The Hilda Garde III was quite cool. Especially in the battle of the airships and dragons. But I'm a sucker for science fiction style technology, so I'll have the Invincible please. Cheers.

I am a fan of the invincible. It's a sleek airship of mass destruction. Capable of destroying an entire nation in seconds. And you get to fly the thing around on disc four. But why can't you use the firepower:(

Uh, just a guess... but could it be maybe because the characters you're playing aren't evil and aren't looking to just wildly destroy stuff? :D

Stuff Airships, nothing like flying around on a gold fluffy chocobo, with the wind running through your hair!

Chocobos are cool just cause you can run on water, across oceans...fulfilling the sidequests and checking that bubbly area outside Vivi's cave.

But Invincible is the way to go, yes it looks futuristic but at least it's not just a flying saucer....

I always use my gold chocobo over the Invincible. Not sure why, I just think its a cooler and greater way to fly. And you can more or less go anywhere with it.

Chocobos are the best way as there are so many so they rule over any airships

once you've got all the stuff and kicked ozma into submission gold chocobos are only good for turning into roast dinners, and all that exercise you make it extra juicy. :D (which is also the reason for viv learning fire spells)

Invincible rules, it's sleek, quick and can land anywhere (not only in forests). and has not so annoying music that doesn't get stuck in your head.

I think the Invincible is kooler because its bluish Green. But I think the Prima Vista is kooler then both of them. ;p
