thats bull shit.

Thingy from final fantasy extreme since I dont want to explain it myself.

"You got the Solomon's Ring from Tear's Point, right? If you didnt, get it. It is the place where the Lunatic Pandora should be hovering over, on the Esthar continent. You need to combine this (don't worry it will happen automatically once you are able to) with six Remedy+. These are obtained by refining them from sixty remedies using Alexander's Med Lev Up Menu. You will also need six steel pipes, from the Wendigos in Roshfall Forest or southeast of Deling City. You will also need six Malboro tentacles (you will also need these for Quistis' ultimate whip so get eight). These are won or stolen from the evil Malboros on the Island Closest to Heaven. (Beware their Bad Breath attack!!!) To defeat these, make sure your status defense is high against most of them (try Ultima as a junction). Be sure not to get Berserked or Confused. Give a character Initiative and mug. And once you get the tentacles, it is easiest to run!"

Basically, once you gotten those items (6 Steel Pipes, 6 Remedy+'s, and 6 Malboro tentacles), just select the Solomon's Ring and you'll get Doomy.

Nope, you just use the ring, give him/it a name and you're home free.

A hint on getting past Mr bad breath:
Use either Odin(well, when he decides to show up that is...) or Quistis' "Degenerator" limit. If you're REALLY good, you can get Selphie's "The End".

Quistis with Inative and in critical health, select Degenerator and blast that sucker to high heaven. Just. Like. That. :D

Better tip for getting Malboro Tenticles. Give Squall the ability Initiative and give him Mug too. As soon as the Malboro comes up, use mug and hope to god that you steal the Malboro Tentacles. If not, have some remedies ready and run from the battle and try again. That's how I do it.

Or if you into playing cards, you can Card Mod 4 Malboro cards into a Malboro tentacle. It's the safe yet long way to get 'em. :)

You need to have the luck of you opponent have the cards you're after, more over, those are higher level cards which can be won only with the newer rules. And it's those rules I kinda hate.

Not really. You can get Malboro cards from a lot of players. The Trepe Groupie in the cafeteria in Balamb Garden plays them fairly often and if you've been careful not to spread any difficult rules to Balamb Garden, you're basically good to go.

Well if you look above then you'll know what items you need exactly, and you wouldn't need to have posted that, then meaning I would have need to to post this.

I got a question:

I got DoomTrain...only after looking up how. Does the game really offer any hint on how to get him?

Sometimes in RPGs there is no hint or no way of getting thing unless doing a bunch of random b/s. I'm not sure if this is one of them or not...

It does actually hint on what you need to find. Like in the first issue of 'Occult Fan' it says the old guy was making a fence out of steel pipes when Doomtrain appeared....at least I think there hinting on that it was Doomtrain who appeared.

No, that's the Wendigo turning up. That Occult Fan hints at the affinity of the Wendigo to steel pipes. Occult Fan III hints at stuff about Doomtrain. It's probably one of the hardest things to figure out in the game.
