Final Fantasy IX had a pretty good storyline with a lot of key moments and close ties between the characters. Which areas of the storyline did you find the most interesting or emotionally moving?

For me, it's the scene between Zidane and Garland. When Zidane is told of his purpose, and his emotions start to stir, and he has to discover how to accept help from his friends as they all gather round to aid him, even as he tries to shrug them off. That close tie of friendship that the guy instills all the way through is bought together in that one moment.

My favorite scene is the one you said. The whole You're Not Alone bit was awesome, with incredible music and it shows that true friends stick to the end, no matter what. I also liked the ending... :)

Kuja: I'm gonna... die?
Misao: Awww.. ;_; Poor Kuja... Lemme huggle you!
*Misao huggles Kuja.
Well, it would have been great.

The last little scene between Kuja and Zidane left a big impression. It concluded Kuja's character development and showed a totally new and incredibly touching side of their relationship.
When I read the mere amount of text they said I am really surprised that it is so little. The scene seemed very long when I first played it, because there was so much hidden between and behind them... There were so many emotions in this scene! Bittersweet.

That's got to be one of my favorite "lessons" of FF9. "You're not alone." No matter what, you're never alone. FF9 just seemed to have the strongest message of teamwork out of all the Final Fantasy games I've played (except maybe FF10), and that part of the game just hit it on the head. Zidane, someone who always brought a spark of optimism to the team, suddenly hit with a painful realization and his whole world is turned upside down to the point he wants to just give in. But his friends can't -- and DON'T -- let him do that.

I remember literally feeling chills when I got through that part of the game. I've NEVER felt that way in a videogame before. Kinda silly, I know, but that's one of the moments that made this game my favorite.

There are a lot of other parts that I know stand out as particluarly memorable, but the other moment that I always can go back to and watch, and STILL get the same heartwarming feeling that I did when I first played, is the ending. I love FF9's ending.

While I personally was dissapointed with the epic towards Disc 4, I absolutely love the superior character development and humane themes they have.

I feel the easily best moment that made this game was Zidane going back to try to save Kuja. To show the ability of humans to be corrupt, and morally fail, but the ones who also can forgive these same people and show compassion.

I think FF9 was just a very humane game all around.

1. Black Waltz 03 chasing the cargoship to the South Gate (even if he does get hurt in the end, poor thing. ;_; )

2. Black Waltz 03 watching after the cargoship after it has left the Dali village.

3. Black Waltz 03 attacks the black mages on the cargoship. This one's so very sad. ;_;

4. Prima Vista flying over Vivi in the very beginning of the game.

5. The Black Mage army attacking Linblum. Look at them, so cute and chubby! ^^

also,

6. When Dagger and Eiko summon Alexander to protect the Alexandria Castle. I <3 his wings. ^^

7. Bahamut attacking Queen Brahne's fleet at Iifa Tree.

<_<

I liked it when Zidane was trying to go on by himself but everyone helped him~ And it had the cool music. :D

I agree with Duo there. Though I died in one of those fights which was annoying but at least I got to hear the music more.
*spoilers*
I also liked the part where Kuja turned Trance and destroyed Terra and Garland but spared you for some reason. How nice of him...oh and when Bahamut killed Brahne.

Now that you mention it, that event would probably come in a close second.

The music memorable, his feelings real, the struggle original.

I'm assuming he died. I mean, Zidane was quite likely to escape the whole terraforming world thing, and he left Kuja in there, so I'm assuming death. Although he probably died before Zidane left him, so...

The incredible Love letter scene! :D
It was very surprising to see such a scene... Well, after that I liked Beatrix even more! ^-^

The last dialog between Kuja and Zidane. Hell, how I felt sorry for that guy! >_<

When Garland shows up with the Invincible ruining Kujas plan, in Alexandria:
Kuja: !!!?

What else?... Every theater play! XD
Blank in general, the Alexander cutscenes ( )

And the happy ending. Although it was plain that that guy in a cloke was Zidane but ... awwww~ it was so cute! U_U

"Lady Auron"

Yes, "you're not alone" definitely invokes the feeling of companionship and knowing life doesn't have to be lived alone, toggling between pain and hate. That made me cry...

Kuja dead? suppose it's true, but what about Mikoto?

All of my favourite moments have been mentioned here except for:
Every scene involving Mikoto, I know she's not important to the storyline (well, not very anyway), but I loved every moment she had in there, despite being soulless, she still seemed to have a soul, which I thought was beautiful (and her name, which means Angel).

Haha,I know I'm just stating what was heard already before, but the part where Zidane goes crazy really is my ...Huh 2nd favourite...It's like you see a totally different Zidane, helpless and moody. It's such a pity, though, every things he has to overcome and all...It can really be understood...*Sighs.* I did cry as well in that one.:(

Ok,nothing new here:The ending has the first place in my heart.
