All right. A lot of us that have played Final Fantasy VIII have played and hated the infamous "Queen of Cards" sidequest. You have to get her to move from place to place and lose cards to her in order to get new cards. (Assuming you don't just decide to skip the whole thing and wait till Disc 4.) Well, here's a neat trick I just discovered to cut down on the time that this quest takes. I've never seen this trick mentioned anywhere before. This trick only works when she's in Dollet and she has one or more cards in her inventory that you have lost to her. Challenge her to a game, but don't accept until you have the trade rule "Direct." For the cards to play with, use four of your best cards (preferably ones with the highest values on the top corners, i.e. not Rinoa's card) and the next card that you need to lose to her. Ideally, she should play using the rare card that you lost to her. (She almost always seems to play it when you're in Dollet, but you're about to turn that to her disadvantage...) Now, here's the trick. During the game, capture the rare card you originally lost to her and make sure to play the card you're trying to lose to her in a position where she'll take it. Also, make sure that you play all of your other cards such that she isn't able to take them. Once the battle is over, you will win back the card you lost to her and she will take the card you lost to her. Afterwards, she'll say that it's a great card and her artist father is painting a new one, just as normal. Now, here's the neat thing. Talk to her again: you'll find that not only will she not move to another location, but you can now lose the next card in sequence to her!

I always skip this quest and play the Card Club at Balamb and on Disk 4, I keep playing CC Diamond (I think, the one w/ the two girls) and I get all of the cards I needed eventually...

Yeah. I know a lot of players just skip this quest. I thought I'd mention this anyway just in case it could be helpful to someone. (And also because there hasn't been much to talk about in this here forum lately.)
