I've heard that the loading times between menus and stuff for these games was horrendous, but is it really that bad? Is it bad enough that it messed up the experience for you?

Basically, should I get new copies of these games, or just picked up used copys of the original SNES games for a fortune on eBay?

Its not that bad even though I played them once. Of course then again I am playing them on my PS2 so that could be the reason why the game isn't that slow for me. = )

Its a waste of money for me since you can just play it with a rom. But they are great games, and if you want the videos dl them on morpheus or something.

I only have FF Chronicles... and it's worth it. You get Chrono Trigger and FF4... with added videos. Anthologies would probably be an excellent buy also..

It's a waste only if you already have the games on SNES. Otherwise you should really buy them. I personally have the SNES version, so I didn't buy them. If you want to watch the movies, you can always download them off the net.

The Anthology I wasn't impressed with. I didn't like ff5, I got bored half-way through it. But I did think 6 was a good game. As far as the animation goes I THINK the only new animation in either of them on the Anthology is the begining and ending (but I never did beat it so I can't say for sure). If it was about 20 bucks and you want it I say its worth it, but I regret paying 40 for it :(.

However the Chronicles I do think is good. I haven't even touched final Fantasy 4, but Chrono Trigger is really good, and has a bunch of added animations throughout the game.

As far as load times go the ff5 and ff6 seemed fine, Chrono Cross was a little bit slow when it went to load battles.

**Chrono Trigger Spoiler***

There was a animation for Frog cutting the Mountain. Watching Frog cut the Mountain with his revamped theme was pretty awesome I thought. If you don't have the game I would recommend finding this file and watching it.

Considering most places want 60 dollars for Chrono Trigger USED on SNES, the price is pretty fair for the ps version I think?

I have both and i think they are both worth getting since it'll most probably be cheaper then to buy the SNES versions. The loading times on FF6 and CT are not to nice but it's alright, and FF4 and FF5 runs great. i think you should buy them.

I found the real reason to get the Anthology was Final Fantasy 5, since until it was finally released I only had an unreliable emulator to play it on, and could never beat it because the emulator kept crashing or killing my data.
Also, I'd beaten FF6 and while they did a good job at keeping the game intact, the loading times could've been much better, especially considering how in FF8 the load times were almost nonexistant and it had at least ten times the amount of information to load at a given time than FF6 did.
And while I like the individual games in the Anthology more than in Chronicles, the FFC is so much better if you've actually beaten the games, because Chrono Trigger has some great replay value and they completely retranslated and uncensored FF4, and in my opinion they made it better. The loading times were also very fast in FF4. CT was worse than FF6, but FF4 was pretty fast.
