As I am 15 years old, I love hip hop. But I don't like all of the new stuff we have today (you know, Wayne, Soulja (in jail, yay!), Gucci, Boosie, Waka).

My favorite rappers/groups of all time are (edited as of 3/17/12):

Geto Boys
E-40 (before he went mainstream/Lil Jon)
Celly Cel
Mr. Magic (No Limit)
DMX
Digable Planets
KRS-One
Rakim
Busta Rhymes (only his old-school sh*t, Coming, When Disaster Strikes, Extinction Level Event)
Pharoahe Monch
Gang Starr
The Wu-Tang Clan (fav. members: Ghost, Rae, Deck, and Meth)
MF Doom
Kool Keith
Ice-T
Ice Cube
The LOX (Jadakiss = SICK LYRICIST!)
Tupac Shakur
The Notorious B.I.G.
Del the Funky Homosapien
Eminem (up to The Eminem Show)
Papoose

Can't think of anybody else.

If you listen to rap/hip hop at all, who are your favorite artists of those genres?

FYI, DJ Premier isn't a rapper. He's a DJ & producer. However Guru of Gang Starr is a rapper.

I don't listen to as much hip hop as used to, but such rappers as....

Pharoahe Monch
Gift of Gab
Sage Francis
Slug
Gza
Method Man
Edan
Aesop Rock
Saul Williams
Mos Def
Rakim

...I can listen to.

Rakim is good because he has the flow, and raps about his life and stuggles. Method Man's cool with his voice, and he raps about women in a good way, not some stupid "I got them bitches, I got money!", or whatever.

Agreed. Rakim had one of the most innovative flows. I miss that fast articulate flow of the golden age...

I really like Method Man's delivery and battle stuff. "4,3,2,1" = love

Biggie Smalls
Mobb Deep
Snoop Dogg
Jay-Z
Young Jeezy

Though I don't know if the original thread starter is still active on this site, I have to admit that I'm really impressed with their taste in hip hop considering they were 15 years old when they wrote this. Digable Planets? Del? Rakim?! Jadakiss and the Lox? KRS-1?! Kid, you are the spawn of the golden era of hip hop and you give me hope that all is not lost with our young people regarding today's music.
And I'm glad someone/anyone mentioned Busta Rhymes. He's 1 of the most underrated artists out here and it's sad that he didn't get his true props until his collabo with Chris Brown and Lil Wayne. The man has hits for years but if you ask someone who their top lyricists/hip hop artists are they always leave his name out.

Yeah, I'm actually 16 in a few weeks, though (born on 8/29/96 just for honesty)

There are other rappers that I like too now, such as the old Master P and pretty much everybody that was on No Limit Records. I also like K-Rino, some ICP songs ("Miracles" was kinda shit but it was only laughingly bad so I *kinda* like it), the likes of Cassidy and Larsiny Family are good, most of Bun B's songs (including the ones on II Trill), any West Coast rapper from the 90s, most East Coast artists are good, not all them are. It's mostly the old hardcore/gangsta rap that I love. I need real hip hop everyday.

I wasn't a hardcore fan of Guru until his Jazzmatazz series. Though I dig "Mass Appeal", he opened my eyes and ears with the Jazzmatazz collabos, especially Vol. 2. He had a monotonous tone that I sometimes couldn't get into but when he has a jazz background, the man is pure gold and his lessons are timeless. I used to watch the videos of him when he was his old self and then saw the changes once solar came into the picture and, no matter what your personal views are, evil is evil on both sides of the coin and that man was taken from us by pure evil. And I'll leave it on that note.

As for my list which runs far and wide depending on my mood:
Dead Prez
Joell Ortiz
Slaughterhouse (before the Shady 2.0 era)
Busta
Jean Grae
Talib Kweli
Tyler, the Creator (I liked "Bastard" the mixtape better than "Goblin" the album.)
Rick Ross
Chino XXL (way before there was a crazy dude named Eminem there was a crazy dude named Chino XXL.)
Sean Price (solo or with Heltah Skeltah, Boot Camp Click and Random Axe.)
KRS-1
Heavy D
Mos Def/Yasiin Bey
Biggie
Mc Lyte
The entire Native Tongues collective (Queen Latifah, ATCQ, LONS, Jungle Brothers, De La Soul, Monie Love, etc.)
Nas
Eric B & Rakim
Big Daddy Kane
50 Cent (the still hungry and killing it on the mixtape circuit up until "The Massacre" 50. not the "I got an album coming out, let me see who I can fight with" 50.)
Remy Ma
Lil Kim
Foxy Brown
Ruste Juxx
Jadakiss
Jay-Z
Rah Digga
Wu-Tang Clan
T.I.
The Game (his 1st 2 albums before he began pulling a page from the 50 Cent promo book.)
Mack 10
X-Clan
Special Ed
Beastie Boys
3rd Base
DMX
RA the Rugged Man (even crazier then Em but due to his mental illness he didn't make it as far.)
