So what did you think? Personally, they annoyed me at first, but after a while I kinda grew to like them. It was annoying how they messed up your junctions and stuff and also how sometimes you just wanted to keep going with the game, but you also got to learn cool stuff sometimes and it could be a good break at times.

Yeah, same here. Also, the sequences took a fairly long to finish as well but they were crucial to the plot.

I loved them, a refreshing break from Squall and the gang. Laguna grew to be one of my favourite characters from the game, and Kiros was just damn cool... Ward... no comment. I loved how everything tied together near the end, amazing and masterful work.

I know a few people who mistook Laguna for a woman at first...
Its true about the junctions. But the messing up of junctions happens a lot throughout the game, whenever you change your party members... But especially after the Laguna-flashbacks.

Personally, Id have liked it if it had turned out that... well, if Laguna had been the villain. I... would have liked that. Whatever.
Well, the flashbacks were a very good way to tell the gamer about what happened in the past. Though it took me a while to realize they were set in the past. :D The game got bigger.

I personally didn't mind them. It's certainly nice to have a variety in a game. I don't just wanna focus on one thing all the time. I want to be challenged in more ways than one. Like peoplehave mentioned before me it was a nice break from Squall and the others.

Yes! My feelings exactly, I was like, dying to see when the next Laguna scene would appear the first time I was playing it. XD

I like them... I only wished they were longer, had a bit more points involved, and more parts of the Laguna storyline... For example, I'd like to find out how Laguna and Kiros found Ward... I also loved the battle theme!

Well, specifically what I didn't like was that the game actually sometimes removed your junctions after the sequences, which led to me writing down what everyone had junctioned so I could get it fixed properly once the sequence was over. Whereas when changing junctions normally in the game, there was the "Junction Exchange" feature, which handily switched everything from one character to another.

But especially after the Laguna-flashbacks.
Though it took me a while to realize they were set in the past.
I'm one of those who tends not to figure that stuff out, so I really didn't have any clue until Ellone actually came out and said it.

Oooh, me too! It rocked! I love doing battle in those sequences to hear the music. And Laguna has a cool limit break.

Well, anyway, looks like people have a lot of different thoughts on these sequences. Keep 'em coming!

<font color=red face="comic sans ms">The first time I saw a Laguna sequence, I thought it was pretty weird and had no idea what was going on. However, it did kinda make a bit of sense to me. If you talk to Zell just before you fall asleep, you hear that the Galbadian army fought in the forest around Timber and burned it down or something like that about 17 years ago; so I assumed you were controlling part of that. It didn't really bother me at first though after I was used to it. And yeah, the battle music was so much better than normal.

Later on though it started to make a bit more sense. I kinda started to guess when they would come in (as soon as I completed disc 1 I guessed that there would be one at the start of disc 2, and there was ;)). I did actually like them in the end though, a good break from having to control Squall all the time. The second one was really annoying for me though, as I went round in a circle about 10 times through the excavation site until I eventually found a path going up in the Lunatic Pandora. :p

Overall though, they were pretty good.

I, for one was addicted to that music they played when I was fighting as Laguna.

... But when I first played it and the switch happened, I saved it and reset to make sure it wasn't a glitch. I was hella wigged out.

At first I didn't like them at all, but as I went through the game for the 3rd time... I had warmed up to the idea of playing as Laguna... and even looked forward to it. ^_^

Playing as Laguna really lets you see the contrast between him and Squall's personalities...

hey,
ya, when you were playing with them, it was cool to be in a situation with either Squall or Laguna, and then just think about what the other would do in that situation. I really began to wait for the next time I could see Ellone and Rein in hopes of learning more about what the hell was going on.

I have to admit that in the beginning, I hated it when i was walking thru an area and my guys would just drop asleep and i had no idea what was going on. I usualy had to wander around for a while before i got me bearings:D.

As for the music and limit breakers, i LOVED! them. i would actully have Kiros and Ward hit Laguna just so I could see it again:D. it was so cool. i didn't really like Kiros and Ward was about as useless as tits on a bull, but other then that, it was sweet

The first time it happened, I was like "okay, someone at Square has been drinking too much." Or I would've been if I had played the game at the age I am now. It did give me an incentive to play the game through a second time though, to work out how the bits of the plot slid together clearer.

And the tune rocks. I wish I had MIDI to play in this thread for everyone. And knew how the hell to do that.

I think I know how to do it, but I'm not sure I should because some people might get annoyed.

I liked it, especially how everything comes together near the ending of the game, it's briliant. Though I had some junctioning troubles from time to time, it never bothered me. I wasn't a big fan of the Laguna battle music, but that's just me.

Mickrulz, why do you revive a thread that has been dead for over a year?
Please don't do that in the future, especially with threads that are longer and have long replies, it's annoying.

And in fact, I'm going to close this, since we already have an active topic discussing the Laguna sequences. Although I'll admit it has a horrible title, and I hate poorly titled threads. I'll edit it so it's more clear what the thread is about.
